"Come on Maggie we're going to be late"

"Sorry, sorry" the teenage girl tumbles into the impatient boy's car, "Dustin took forever in the bathroom." Maggie Henderson loved her younger brother to death, but the little shit took pride in causing the teenager distress whether that be taking apart her hairdryer for a science project, using the last of her blue nail polish to touch up a DnD minifig, or locker her out of the bathroom and making her late.

"Well next time I'm not going to wait for you. I have Mrs. McNeeley first period and you know how she is even if you make it by the bell." Jonathan grumbles out. Maggie smiles to herself in the car mirror she pulled down to fix her mascara. She knows Jonathan would never do that. They had been friends since elementary school. They had been with each other through it all she was there for him during his parents divorce, he comforted her when Nancy Wheeler didn't invite her to her 14th birthday party, and he even punched Brian Taylor for her. Yeah they were eight and it was because Brian took the crayons she was using but still!

"So do you want to tell me why you were so bitchy this morning?" Maggie asks from her place leaning against the wall beside Jonathan's locker. They did end up making it to class on time. Maggie may have fallen into her classroom as the bell had rung, but it counted in her mind. "It's nothing, just didn't get a lot of sleep last night" the taller boy mumbled shoving his english notebook into his bag.

Down the hall familiar curly hair distracts the girl from prodding past the boy's weak excuse. Her gaze follows the girl down the hall as she chats with Barbra Holland. As the girly haired girl gets pulled into an empty hallway Maggie's friend interrupts her staring. "I can't believe you used to be friends with her" Jonathan turns to head down the arts hallway toward where the pair will spend their free period. "Yeah me neither" she mumbles out.

Nancy Wheeler, slowly climbing her way up Hawkins High's social ladder. Before she giggled with the middle tier of populars. and snuck around with Steve Harrington she was one of Maggie's closest friends. Due to their brothers being fast friends the girls were introduced. They spent years skipping their way around Hawkins Elementary, and whispering in the stacks of Hawkins Middle's library. They shared their crushes and comforted each other when they were seen holding hands with another girl. However at the start of highschool Nancy somehow decided that Maggie didn't fit into her idea of what High School should look like and started to distance herself. The distance between the two girls grew, Nancy stopped inviting her to hang out with her and Barb, she stopped greeting Maggie when she would drop off Dustin to hang out with Mike, and eventually the two were strangers.

The pair enter the school's dark room and Jonathan gets to work developing his latest pictures. The younger of the two perches the counter and pulls out the notebook she is currently filling to scrawl her thoughts. She only takes a pause when she gets a headache from straining her eyes in the red lighting.

She rubs her temples a few times before slumping in her seat. The air leading up to the weekend feels tense, whether that was from the general anxiety from the teens life or the dred of spending another weekend in her room.

The restless teen lets out a sigh before turning to the direction of her best friend, "Hey you doing anything Sunday?" "Huh?" "Are you free Sunday? Do you want to do a movie night? Dustin's probably going to spend all day at the Wheeler's because of that campaign and I'm just going to be home and bored" the shorter girl pouts. "I don't know-"

"Come on!" shouts as she jumps down from the counter top "Please~" the shorter uses her best pleading eyes.

"Okay, okay" Jonathan laughs at his friend's antics, "Fine."
