GROVER UNEXPECTEDLY LOSES HIS PANTS

Confession time: I ditched Grover as soon as we got to the bus terminal. I know, I know. It was rude.

That was mean, Daria." Annabeth gave Daria a glare.

"That's not very responsible," chastises Hestia. "Especially if you promised him you would wait."

But Grover was freaking me out, looking at me like I was a dead man, muttering "Why does this always happen?" and "Why does it always have to be fifth grade?"and at some points just flat-out reciting funeral rites .

"That is creepy." Jason informed. "I would have ditched you too, man."

Everyone nods, and Grover sighs.

"Yeah... I realised it when I came back and found her gone."

Whenever Grover got upset, his bladder had a knack for acting up, so I wasn't surprised when, as soon as we stepped off the bus, he insisted I wait for him and dashed straight to the restroom. Instead of sticking around, I grabbed my suitcase, slipped outside, and hopped into the first taxi heading uptown.

Conner raised an eyebrow, "You felt comfortable taking a taxi? In New York ?"

Daria shrugged, "not comfortable per say, but it was better than walking."

Narcissa sat up slightly, "Why wouldn't you feel comfortable taking a... taxi? Whatever that is." asked ignoring the glares.

Daria grimaced slightly, "New York is a very criminal area, many things happen, it wasn't particularly safe, but it was the only thing I could use."

Narcissa tilted her head slightly, confused but said nothing else.

Either way, I had promised to let him walk home, and he did technically walk me out; the rest was just a car ride, so I'd still kept my promise.

The Slytherins all chuckled.

" 80 Fifth Avenue, E 14th St," I told the driver.

"Is that where you live?" the Stoll brothers ask

" No we've moved to another place" Daria responded which resulted them in pouting.

A word about my mother, before you meet her.

"Amazing."

"Wonderful."

"Magnificent."

"Goddess among men."

Grover, Annabeth, Thalia and Nico all spoke at once as they complimented Daria's mother.

Her name is Sally Jackson, and she's the best person in the world. She was a Ravenclaw during her Hogwarts days.

Her mother died in a potion-gone-wrong experiment when Sally was just five, and she was raised by her father, a strict and demanding man. Though he never showed much warmth, his expectations were always high. He pushed her relentlessly to excel—especially in academics and in upholding the Jackson family name.

After Hogwarts, Sally became a Magical Society Consultant—a sought-after advisor to the wizarding world's elite. She honed her expertise in magical diplomacy and high-society matters, using her sharp intellect and social finesse to navigate the intricate world of pureblood families, political negotiations, and magical customs. Today, she's one of the best in her field, respected by both old families and newcomers who need her counsel on everything from family disputes to international wizarding relations.
