Biana's POV

I closed Sophie's room door quietly, thinking about our conversation. Would Tam really ever like me? It seemed impossible. But Sophie had so much faith in me that I couldn't help but believe her. Maybe I'll just have to try.

I walked to Tam's room and knocked. There was silence, but I could see his shadow peering at me from under the door. I waved nervously. The door clicked open. I walked in.

"Hi Tam," I said smilingly.

"What do you want?" Tam asked bluntly. Ouch. That hurt my feelings.

"Do you want to hang out some time?" I offered.

Tam looked taken aback. I would've too, if someone I barely knew approached me asking to hang out. But he nodded anyway. I smiled.

"Great!" I exclaimed, "Meet you at my room tomorrow, at 2.30. Bye!"

I stepped out of his room, closing the door. The butterflies in my stomach were even more jittery, and I could feel my face go tomato red. Just then, Linh walked past.

"Biana?" she asked, "What's wrong?"

I shook my head and muttered, "I'm fine, thanks."

I looked at my feet and walked hurriedly back to my room. I shut the door. I jumped onto my bed and shoved my face into my pillow. My excitement was overflowing. Too much. I was all smiles.

"I did it," I squealed happily, "I asked Tam Song to hang out with me!"

I rolled over and laughed. I was in a good mood. A very good mood. I couldn't wait.

Tam's POV

Biana walked out of my room. As soon as she shut the door, I beamed. Biana just asked me out. Okay, maybe she didn't ask me out, but it was a start.

I paced around my room excitedly, my face red and my eyes shining. I couldn't believe it.

Just then, the door opened. I stopped in my tracks. Linh walked in.

"Hi Tam," she smiled. I smiled back. She gasped.

"What?" I asked.

"You...you," Linh stuttered, stumbling over her words, "just smiled...."

I gasped and realized what she meant. I covered my mouth instantly. Linh smirked.

"What's with the sudden happiness?" she asked sneakily. I felt my face burn.

"Nothing," I mumbled. However, Linh didn't seem convinced. She giggled, while I rolled my eyes.

"You know," she grinned, "Biana looked really happy just now. Did you both decide to go on a shopping spree or something?"

Happiness filled my heart. Biana was happy. She actually wanted me to hangout with me. Linh's laughing snapped me back into reality.

"What?" I asked.

"You're doing it again," she snickered.

"Doing what?"

"Smiling."

Shit. Groaning, I turn to see Linh's smug face.

"It's Biana, isn't it?" she asked.

Shit. I flinch. "What?"

"You like her," she drawls, "Even I can tell."

Shit. Maybe she's right. I think she's right.

"From what? How'd you even figure that out?" I asked.

"Do you see yourself when you're around her? You're a completely different person."

Shit, shit, shit. She's right. I like Biana. I can't believe I'm only realizing this now.

Linh grinned at my frowning. "Knew it," she snickered.

"Stop," I whined. Linh just kept laughing.

"No, I won't," Linh grinned.

I sighed in frustration and stormed out of my room, slamming the door. But I was burning up. If what Linh said was true, and I really liked Biana, what was I going to do? Biana would never like someone like me. We live in two different worlds. Hers filled with laughter and sparkles, and mine filled with darkness and shadows.
