I cradled Ava, has she let out little coo's. I gently let her back down in her crib, and walked to the door.
I unlocked the door, and it creaked open. I peeked outside, to see if the coast was clear. It was an empty hallway. Good.
I stepped outside the room, and closed the door behind me. The only way to get outside was to take the stairs. I'm not going to jump out a window.
I slowly went down the stairs. I had no plan whatsoever. All I had to do was run outside, but not gain much attention.
I reached the bottom of the stairs, and stood above a very crowded living room. I looked for Imraan. I found him in the kitchen, which was pretty far from the stairs and front door. I pushed through the crowd, and approached the door. Though, some people were blocking the way.
" Uh, excuse me!" I said politely. " Can I please pass through?"
" Hmm? You're leaving so early?" A girl with ash brown hair asked.
" I, uh, have to go. My parents called.. and I have to go home." I said uneasily.
" Don't listen to your parents! Just have fun! It's a party!" A girl with copper red hair added.
I was the girl who respected everyone. Of course I listened to my parents.
" Yeah, but I really have to go." I turned my head just in time to see Imraan heading my way.
I quickly tried pushing the two girls out of my way, when Imraan set his hand on my shoulder. I shook, and slowly turned around.
"There you are." Imraan smirked. " I've been looking for you."
" I n-need to go." I stuttered. I pushed the girls and opened the door. I quickly wan outside, with Imraan chasing after me.
The backyard was pretty crowded too. I eventually lost Imraan in the crowd, and I slowed down a bit. I was tired. Suddenly, I heard a loud thump behind me.
I turned, and found Imraan lying on his belly. I guess he was pushed. Imraan opened his eyes, and saw me. As I turned around, and started running away, Imraan grabbed my right foot, and I tripped.
"Ow!" I yelped. " Let go!"
"No!" He shouted.
I wiggled my foot, and broke free of his grip. But he still had my red high heel. I took off my other heel, and ran away. I decided it was too late to get my other shoe back. I ran until I was out of breath. I rested at a bus stop.
My feet had become very dirty. I sat down, and brushed the dirt off my feet. I couldn't go to Michelle's house, because it was locked. And there was no way Michelle would leave the party so early.
I walked, knowing that Imraan wasn't chasing after me anymore. I reached a gas station, where I would change my clothes in the restroom.
I changed into my normal clothes, and headed home. I thought about Imraan. Everything he said to me the other day, was.... a lie?
Of course I'm not going. You shouldn't either. I had said.
Yeah, I know. I'm not going. Imraan had told me.
He was lying to my face. Though I was also lying to him. What happened to us? I used to be the girl everyone liked. The good Muslimah. I thought Imraan was the same. I guess I shouldn't be the one to speak though.
I just didn't think Imraan could be so... haram.
I finally reached home. My bag hung on my shoulder. My feet approached the 'welcome' mat in front of my door.
