Tanisha nervously twirled her spoon through the rice on her plate, feeling the weight of her impending announcement bearing down on her shoulders. The clinking of cutlery against plates filled the room, the atmosphere heavy with anticipation.
Finally gathering the courage, Tanisha cleared her throat, causing the chatter around the table to subside. "Um, mane tame kai kehvu che," she began, her voice wavering slightly. (I have something to tell you.)
Her mother, Nita, looked up from her plate, her brow furrowed in curiosity. "Su?" (What?)
Taking a deep breath, Tanisha glanced around the table at her family, her heart pounding in her chest. "I'm pregnant."
A stunned silence fell over the table, broken only by the clatter of dropped utensils and the sharp inhales of her family members. And the silence only confirmed that it was not a joke.
Nita's eyes widened in shock, her initial reaction one of fury. "Pregnant? How could you be so careless, Tanisha?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in anger.
Tanisha flinched at her mother's voice.Mukesh calmed his wife down and talked to hr about how impulsive she was.
Isha and Shloka, quickly moved to her side. "Tanisha, we're here for you, no matter what. You're not alone in this." They engulfed her in a hug, protecting and comforting her,
Tears welled up in Tanisha's eyes, she was overwhelmed by the situation. She made a mistake, and now she cannot think about whether she should keep the baby or not. It was too much for her to handle.
Nita's anger quickly turned to concern as she reached out to grasp Tanisha's hand. "When did this happen? Do you know who the father is?" she asked, her voice softer now, tinged with worry.
Tanisha's resolve faltered as she hesitated, unsure of how to respond. "I... I don't want to tell anyone right now," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. "It happened in Dubai, and it was just a one-night stand."
Akash, Tanisha's brother, slammed his fist against the table. "Tanisha, how could you be so reckless? Thoda to dhyan rakhna chahiye na!" he demanded, his voice laced with anger.
"Akash." His wife looked at him in disbelief, "Abhi mat bolo kuch. Please."
Her father rose from his seat, his expression one of determination. "Enough," he declared, his voice commanding attention. "Ab jo ho gaya, so ho gaya. Beta, Time lo, Samjho is baat ko. Jo bhi tumhara decision hoga, hum hai yaha tumhare sath."
Nodding in agreement, Tanisha wiped her tears away. Looking apologetically at her Aakash walked up and hugged her. "I'm sorry, baby." Tanisha clenched his shirt and tightened the embrace. "Kuch nahi hoga. Mai hu yaha." He pecked her head. Anant joined and caressed her puffy red cheeks.
"walk pe chal." Radhika held her hand and took her away. Radhika gave her the space to clear her thoughts, they walked silently for few minutes before going back to their rooms.

After three days of careful consideration, Tanisha gathered her family together to share her decision. As they sat around the living room, anticipation hung heavy in the air.
"I've thought long and hard about my options," Tanisha began, her voice steady with determination. "And I've decided that I want to keep the baby."
A chorus of joyous exclamations filled the room as her family members enveloped her in hugs and congratulations. Her father beamed with pride, his eyes shining with emotion.
Isha squeezed her sister's hand, her smile radiant with relief. "You're going to be an amazing mother, Tani."
Anant clapped Tanisha on the back, his grin infectious. "I can't wait to be an uncle!"
Radhika's eyes sparkled with excitement as she embraced Tanisha tightly. "I'm going to make sure you take care of yourself! You can be a baby yourself!"
Tears of joy welled up in Tanisha's eyes as she felt the overwhelming love and support of her family wash over her. In that moment, she knew she had made the right decision.
"Now, what are you planning for future?" Her mother asked calmly.
"I have booked a sonography for next Tuesday, and I will tell my friends uske baad." She paused before talking about her work, "I will work till my body allows me, but someone will have to be with me so they can fill my place for the months I'll not be available. Abhi hospital mai jo changes hue, staff bhi bohot naya hai and, I'll need someone there with me."
They recently took over the hospital after Tina, her aunt, decided that she didn't want to operate the hospital anymore. What happened was, during her time as the executive director of the hospital, the institute lost its nabh and international accreditation due to carelessness in management and lack of professional services. After Tanisha became in charge, she changed a lot of staff and created a well functioning system.
"Manisha can help you there, she was a doctor herself and now is a trustee. It would be good because she knows how your system works." Her father suggested .
Tanisha nodded and replied, "I'll ask her from next month. Abhi mat bat karna is bare mai."
