Y/n POV
I waved to the girl passing through the gates after checking her ID. All these reports of doppelgangers were freaking my boss out so he hired me to check people at the door to make sure they were themselves.
"Oh, Francis!" A smile spread across my face as my crush stepped up to the glass, holding a large crate of milk.
"ID?" I ask, taking out my small slipboard.
"Oh, I forgot it in my truck." Francis turns around to walk back out.
"Wait! I'll just let you in this one time." I giggled. "I know you too well to let some slimy doppelganger fool me!" His thin lips cracked a small grin that made me giggle.
As I pressed the button to let him in, his grin grew into a massive open mouthed smile. The lights flickered, suddenly his mouth and eyes were replaced by endless black voids.
"Oh fuck!" I realized my mistake far too late. Th e lights flickered again and he was gone.
So many thoughts swirled through my head, what happened to the real Francis? Did he die? Am I going to die?! I rushed to lock the doors to my office and put down the metal shutters.
Tears streamed down my face and I backed up into the wall of my office. I looked around for something to defend myself with, the best thing I could find was an umbrella.
I stayed with my back to the wall, keeping my eyes on the door for any suspicious activity. I had my eye on the wrong place though.
I felt a strong hand wrap around my mouth, I turned to find those terrifying, soulless, black eyes staring down at me.
"Caught you!"
