part 2:
the next day, the first thing fateh did was drive over to the sandhu's house. he was desperate to see tejo, and figure out what went wrong. he didn't want to unwillingly hurt her, however his plans were pulled to a stop when jasmine opened the door. a smile graced her face as she saw him and he realised that her thoughts might be going towards a different tangent, so he quickly clears all her doubts the best he can, "tejo kidhere hai?"
"divorce ke lie manga?" she asks, completely clueless, and fateh feels a punch to his gut at the thought.
suddenly he feels irritated and his anger flares up, "nahi, aur mujhe bakwas ke lie time nahi hai. tejo kidhere hai?"
jasmine's clearly taken aback as this wasn't how she supposed this would go, but still she replies "anil picked her up and took her to college"
a sickening feeling spread all over him at jasmine's words, an ugly creature clawing in his chest. anil had picked up tejo, his wife tejo for work? he doesn't give jasmine any more of his time as he rushes to his bike, and drives at a unsafe speed to the college. he runs almost past a few onlookers who looked confused, towards Tejo's classroom.
once he reached, he was just in time to see anil leave tejo's classroom with a smile, he closed his fist while irritation filled his features. tejo still had ten to fifteen minutes of prep time in the morning before her lecture started and fateh walked right in with a demanding aura.
her eyes slightly widen as he appeared, not sure how to react because she didn't expect this. didn't think it would really matter much to him at all.
"tejo kya kar rahe ho?" he asks, and walks over behind her desk so he's completely invading any personal space she tried to maintain previously.
"i was preparing for my lecture before you walked in rudely" she responds once she finds her voice, and looks away but he doesn't let her as he grabs her arms.
"with anil?" he scoffs, and her eyebrow shoots up in question. "and why did he drop you?"
"i -i don't need to answer anything" she says, yet her voice is unsure. and breaks out of his grip "you should leave"
his face falls and there's pain in his eyes, a look she's grown unable to see on him. his voice softens, almost pleading. "tell me what's wrong, what did i do? why did you suddenly leave last night"
"i thought it wouldn't make much of a difference and my father was missing me so i had to go home" she lies through her teeth and he sees it, she can also see the frustration as his shoulder's tense up at her words.
"would you stop thinking it doesn't matter goddamit. you do matter to me more than you know" he claims, irritation filling his voice and he slams her desk with not much rigor but it still shakes her, his words doing it instead.
"fateh i-" she doesn't get to say anything as the loud sound of the bell resonates against the classroom, signaling that their time was up.
"mein pick up karungi, aur tumara ghar bhi drop kar sakte lekin mein hi drop kardungi" he says, his words slicing the air with tension between them, if anything adding more onto it with his extra possessiveness.
-
as he promised, he was outside on his bike waiting for her interacting with a few students and her traitorous heart skips a beat watching him. she knew she shouldn't be feeling this way, fateh was just a possessive person and if anything their conversation this morning stemmed from guilt, she couldn't place his feelings for him.
