A few months prior

Jason paid a visit to the Li Xingyun's courtyard.

Stating his name, he was escorted by Li Hu, a trusted aide and right-hand man of Li Xingyun.

When they entered, Jason heard a dispute echoing from the hall.

"Young Master Li has a guest?" Jason asked, looking at Li Hu with a puzzled expression.

"Yes." Li Hu nodded. His mood didn't seem too good. "Please wait outside."

Jason looked in the direction of the hall and furrowed his brows, listening to the dispute.

Inside the hall were two well-dressed elders. One of them was having a dispute with Li Xingyun.

Listening to the dispute, Jason realized that the two of them were elders of the Ashen Flames Family and they were here to force Li Xingyun to concede and become the lackey of Li Yunfeng.

Jason smiled, finding Li Xingyun's character more and more to his liking. Li Xingyun highly values loyalty and that's also why Li Xingyun has been able to assemble such an unyielding following of brothers. Often, when a group of people follows a leader, it's not because their leader is stronger, but because their leader is reliable and would never do them injustice!

Soon the dispute was over as the elders left in anger. After they left, Jason walked in.

"Brother Nie Li, I never thought that you guys would come!" Li Xingyun showed a smile.

"And you can still smile." Jason smiled in reply.

"Why can't I? Should I be crying then? It seems like you guys overheard from outside. However, it's nothing much even if you guys hear it. It's just a family spat. It must have been a joke to you guys." Li Xingyun shrugged his shoulder, not caring about it. "I wonder what brings Brother Nie Li here?"

Jason smiled, "Actually, I have a deal for you. I wonder if you're interested?"

Li Xingyun couldn't help raising his head towards Nie Li. "What kind of deal?"

"Before I tell you about my deal, tell me if you get your hand on a God-level growth rate Dragon Bloodline demon spirit. How much it will affect your position in the family?"

Li Xingyun looked at Jason slightly confused, not understanding his meaning. Still, he replied. "Brother Nie Li, anyone with a God Level growth rate Dragon Bloodline demon spirit can become the pillar of the sect and his position will rise exponentially. If I get my hand on one, then I can compete for the position of the successor of the family!"

"Great." Jason lightly smiled. "Because if Brother Li is interested, I can get you a God-level growth rate Dragon Bloodline demon spirit!"

Li Xingyun's character was much to Jason's liking so he decided to help him.

Jason was mostly a lone wolf in his previous life so he knew the importance of loyal allies.

"You can get a Dragon Blood God Level growth rate demon spirit for me?" Li Xingyun's voice couldn't hide his surprise, his hands trembling in excitement.
