Another day at school as John with his friends hung out in the cafeteria to chill after every stressful lesson they had. But due to John snowing, his friends are starting to suspect as every day after class, John would leave them 3 to go somewhere else alone and start to come home late at night. After an hour of chatting, Liam starts to shift the topic by asking John
"John, we've been thinking. Why, every after class, do you always go alone, leaving the 3 of us to go home? Your mother has also started to ask that." Liam asked John, sounding serious.
"Yeah, we've also been starting to notice that John. Are you seeing someone or something that you decided to keep it on us?" Jack asked in a tone of suspicion
"What? Nonsense, guys. It's just that I need to go somewhere important. That's all." John said in a non-chalant way as he took a sip of his juice.
"Are you sure? The way we see it, it's like keeping you it away from us, " Anne said it exaggeratedly, sounding jealous as he imagined John with another girl.
"Of course, I'm sure. I didn't lied to you ever in our life, right?" John said as he tried to find a way to get out of this topic.
"Well, whatever you say, John," Jack replied in an annoyed voice.
"Let's just go back to our class, shall we?" John said to his friends to end this conversation. They all head back to their perspective classroom.
Another class day ends for them as they pack up their stuff and get ready to leave the classroom. The group starts to leave the school and John decides once again to go in a seperated way but this time, his friends decide to follow him in his destination. Unknowingly to John, Liam, Jack, and Anne follow him discreetly and keep their distant onto their pursuit.
"Where do you think he's going?" Jack whispered to Liam as his voice was audible to keep himself quiet.
"I have no idea, but we're about to find out soon," Liam replied to Jack as they continued to follow John through the dark path.
The group continued to trail John deeper into the dark alley of the street. Their curiosity grew every second as they followed John. After minutes of walking, they arrived at the secret building where the Dodge Demon is being safely kept. John entered the building, his friends followed him, and stopped on the doorway where John entered.
"Is this where John has been going?" Jack whispered to Anne and Liam.
"Seems like it." Liam replied
"What do you think he's hiding that he also decides to keep it from us?" Anne said to the two
"Guess we'll have to find out." Jack said. "On my cue, one...two...three," Jack said as he broke the door, and the three saw John with Old Man Joe furnishing the car
The three were surprised and awe to see John , and John himself was surprised and shocked to see his friends that they caught him and his secret.
His friends stared at the car in awe as their suspicions started to melt away as they discovered John's secret.
John nervously said as he stares at his friends with awe and shocked eyes, "Guys?"
"Is this what you've been hiding from us all the time?!" Jack yelled irritatingly and madly to John.
"Wait, guys, I can explain this." John replied nervously as he tries to cover the car again.
"So this is what's been busying you in the last 3 months" Anne said to John with a hint of disappointment in her voice.
John just stares down on the floor with shame in his eyes.
"We've been friends since kinder, man. Why did you hide such thing like this to us" Jack yelled madly at John while Liam tried to calm him down.
"I know, I shouldn't told you but I couldn't" John replied in low tone voice
"I think I should leave you 4 for a second" Old Man Joe said as he leaves the 4 and goes upstairs. As Old Man Joe left them, Liam speaks up and confronts John.
"Tell us, John. Why did you hide these stuff from us?" Liam said to John in a stern voice.
Jon took a moment to gather his thoughts, feeling the weight of Liam's question on his shoulders. He knows that he owe his friends an explanation they need, and after a while, he was ready to give one.
"Guys" John began, meeting each other's gazes in turn, "I didn't mean to hide it from you because I didn't trust you. It's just, I was afraid of how you'd react if you saw this car. This car is the only precious memory of my father before he die, and it was deeply mean something to me. I was worried that you wouldn't understand and judge me for it."
He paused, feeling a lump in his throat. "But now seeing your reactions, I realized that I deeply underestimated our friendship. I should've trusted you all enough to share my part of myself to you 3."
Liam stepped forward, and puts a hand on John's shoulder with a reassuring smile on his face. "John, we're your friends. We might have misunderstandings and sometimes fight, but that doesn't mean we won't support each other. We're here for you, no matter what happens"
Jack and Anne nods in agreement to Liam's statement, while Old Man Joe just watches them from the stairs with a smile on his face.
"Thanks, Guys" John said, feeling a surge of gratitude and happiness inside of him. "I couldn't ask for a better friends"
"But John" Anne speaks up in a worry voice. "This car of yours is a gas car, you know what happens if the officials saw this. They might caught you and destroy your car for being a gas operated vehicle"
John thought Anne's words for a second as he looks at the car, then back to his friends. "I know that Annie, but this car means a lot to me. It's not just engine and fuel it uses, it also about memories and the dreams I've had since I was a kid"
He paused, his eyes searching for his friends understandings. "I know its not a environmentally friendly car, and I've been grappling with that. But at the same time, its a part of who I am. I hope you guys understand me." John said as he looks at his friends.
Liam nodded thoughtfully. "We know that John, but its a dangerous and tough situation this is. Once the officials heard about this car, they will automatically go to you and confiscate your car. What's worse is they can destroy that thing. But, don't worry, we'll make sure no one can know about this except us."
"Thanks, Liam" John said it with gratitude on his tone.
Jack butts in. "Yeah, don't worry. We'll support you every step of the way. We're into this together John, always remember that"
Anne speaks up. "Yeah and friends never leave you behind. No matter what you or who you are."
John smiles and said, "Thank you, I appreciate this. I promise from now on that, I won't hide anymore secrets from you"
The group shared a warm embrace as their bond grew stronger than ever before. After a second, they all pulled away and stares at the car.
"That was a beautiful car" Jack said.
"I know" John replied to Jack as they continue to bond throughout the night.
