All I want is to take her home and make her mine again. But when I looked in her eyes, all I could see was sadness. I thought when they'd end things she'd realise who loves her. But maybe I need to let her realise that by herself. And stop being a distraction to a relationship she wants at the moment. I chase Carlos down the street as he's trying to get a car.
"The fuck do you want. To gloat?" Carlos asks rolling his eyes. "No." I say. He turns to face me, "Then what?" He asks squinting his eyes at me. "I want to talk to you. About Liv" I say sighing. "Have her." Carlos says scoffing. "Carlos stop man" I say pulling his arm to face me. "She wants to be with you. And you've left her. Crying. By herself. For what? Because you're envious of me? Is that it?" I ask getting angry. Carlos pushes me, "Fuck off Lando" he says getting annoyed. "Yeah you see how you're fighting for her now. GO FIGHT FOR HER. SHOW HER YOU CARE. Because although she doesn't want me, id do anything to show her how much I care. And for some reason, she still wants you after the show you've put on" I say scoffing and turning to walk away. There's silence, until Carlos says, "Lando wait.". I turn around and he sighs, "She wants me? But how do I even compare to your relationship." Carlos asks sighing. "You don't. You make yours the best you can for her." I say shrugging gently.
Carlos nods slowly. "You're right." He says. I wish I wasn't. Because I just want her for myself. That's all I've ever wanted. But I can't keep dragging her along. Me and Carlos walk back to Liv, who when we get back has stopped crying, but just genuinely looks depressed. "Carlos?" She says standing up quickly and wiping her tears away. "Liv. I'm really sorry." He says wrapping his arms round her. She looks to me confused, but I nod to her smiling. "Please say you will still be my girlfriend Mi Amor" Carlos says desperately. Liv looks to me again and I nod, forcing a little smile. She turns to Carlos and nods, "Yes Carlos of course I will" she says wrapping her arms round his neck. This is more painful than I thought it would be. Carlos kisses her softly. I can tell she wants more. Fuck sake. Was this a good idea. I nearly had her in my grasp.
"Shall we head home?" Carlos asks Liv. Liv nods and smiles, "Yeah. I'm just gonna talk to Lando quickly ok?" She asks Carlos. Carlos nods and kisses her cheek. He starts walking down the street. Liv comes towards me, "Lando what are you doing. We could of had it together again" she says confused. "Liv. I haven't seen you so happy with Carlos. So at peace. I can keep destroying your relationship. But it won't do any good for me or for you. If we're going to have a fair shot at this again, it needs to be the last time" I say softly. Liv shakes her head at me, "But Lando-" she goes to say but I cut her off. "Liv your the best thing that ever happened to me. But Carlos is the best thing that will happen to you. So I need to let you go." I say my eyes starting to fill with tears.
She nods slowly, her own eyes filling with tears, "Lando, I will always love you" she says biting her lip to stop her from crying harder. "I will always love you. But I don't want to keep holding you back." I say softly. She nods and I wrap my arms round her kissing the side of her head, "I'll see you soon Liv" I whisper to her before walking off. She watches me for a moment and then walks back to Carlos. This is the most hurt. I've ever been. But I know it's what's right for her.
I walk back down towards my apartment with my hands in my pockets. This is shit. I need to be mature now. I see a notification pop up on my phone...
