The next day was a calm day compared to the weekend. Hana didn't let down the fact that Tenko had a potential crush over and his raging headaches didn't make the intolerance any better. Sunday was a much easier day.
Monday, however, had Tenko's stomach tied into a knot. When his alarm echoed throughout his room, he laid in bed for an extra fifteen minutes, staring at the ceiling while he contemplated his life. Mainly he just thought of ways he could get out of school. He was terrified to face his peers. They probably knew in detail what had happened to one of their best faces. However, that didn't terrify him nearly as bad as the thought of facing Toya. That was damn near impossible.
Hana burst open his door halfway into his spiral. She scoffed when she found him still in his bed. "You're still laying down? What's with you?"
Tenko groaned and turned his back to her. "I don't feel well."
"Mom has work today," scoffed his sister, "She won't let you stay home."
Tenko groaned quietly. He already knew that. It was hard enough to get her to allow either of the two to leave school early. Staying home was a much different conversation. The male ravenette tugged the blankets over his head.
"Let me gather my bearings." he grumbled under the covers.
Hana huffed in slight irritation. "You've had fifteen minutes to gather your bearings. We're going to be late if you keep sulking."
Tenko gave a louder groan. He threw his blanket onto the foot of his bed, heaving himself up. His hands pushed his hair out of his face. It took him a few seconds to let his body actually wake up before he kicked his legs off the bed.
"Get out of my room." The ravenette shot her a look. "I have to change."
His sister's eyes traveled him up and down. "Okay, Grumpy. Change your tone while you're at it."
Tenko's eyes followed her as she left his bedroom. He let out a long sigh once she was gone. There was now point avoiding this. It was bound to catch up with him at one point. Might as well face the music.

The courtyard was overcrowded as always. His eyes darted around, studying even the smallest glimpses of the faces that looked his way. No one seemed suspicious. Not yet at least. Hana stuck by his side for a few minutes before she was summoned by her friends. She gave them a friendly wave before looking over at Tenko.
"Are you going to be okay?" She asked him.
The younger one hesitated. He should be fine! No one had said anything yet. Maybe he was in the clear. Then again, the thought of seeing Toya haunted him. He was their friend, unless he too was scared of facing Tenko. Tenko hoped that was the case.
"I'll be fine." Tenko finally exhaled. "I can take care of myself."
Hana's eyes remained glued to her little brother. There were no signs of uncertainty in his gaze, just wariness. She drew out a breath and squeezed his shoulder.
"You know where to find me if you need anything." She gave her brother one last smile before departing, making her way to her friends.
Tenko watched her figure grow smaller and smaller, slipping further into the crowds and out of his reach. He opened his mouth to call her name. Why did he push her away? He was terrified. A bubbling, anxious mess. He needed her now.
The ravenette sucked in a breath. No. He didn't need to be dependent on someone else. He's got this! All he had to do was make it through the next eight hours here! At school. Where Toya was. Tenko's face twisted into a grimace. Maybe he wasn't as strong as he thought.
