After Giyu woke up from his sleep, he found that Sanemi was preparing tea and sweets for him. He was very nice ever since the war.
Sanemi heard something fall from upstairs and quickly went to check on him to see if everything was okay. It turns out that Giyu had only fallen from bed because he tried to go with Sanemi down to the kitchen. "You should take care of yourself too." Sanemi said a bit annoyed when he picked up Giyu and laid him down on the bed again. "I can't be taking care of you all my life you know." "Yes i know but i just need you right now..." Those words made Sanemi's heart melt so he did. He stayed by his side until he heard the tea was ready.
After drinking tea they both stayed in silence until Sanemi spoke up again. "I'm... Sorry.. About what happened with her, i know you really loved her... But ever since the start i knew there was something off about her" . . . "You don't have to apologize, it was my fault for trusting that much in her when i had just meet her."
Again, they both stayed quiet for another while before Sanemi stood up and brought him konpeito that Nezuko had made for them. As they started to eat the sweet, Sanemi noticed that Giyu looked a bit down. 'Maybe it's because of that girl... Screw her. Why cry about her when he has me? I'm way better and i would never treat him like that' he thought before shaking his head and continued to eat the kompeitos.
After that, Giyu went outside to the garden and Sanemi went to his bedroom to write a letter:
"Dear Giyuu, i know we almost have nothing in common but it's been a while since I've actually feel like i loved someone.
Everytime i see you my heart skips a beat and i wish i could hold you tightly. I wish i could give you every flower in the damn world and make you mine.
Watch the sunset together, go to the theater or see the stars is all i ask, please. I do not want to ever leave you.
Even after death, i want to hold your hand, even if that means being buried next to eachother because i wouldn't know what to do if i never got to see you again or keep you by my side.
Sometimes i wonder if you feel the same or if you ever liked me in the first place? But i couldn't care less, even if you reject me i would continue to adore you even if it's from a distance.
No words can describe your perfection and how you always enchant me with your beautiful ocean blue eyes. Your touch is soft and warm while mine's rough and cold, i really don't deserve you.
I've done many things in the past but now i want to make things work and apologize for how i was in the past and how i mistreated you for no reason, i really was dumb.
I swear, if it's not in this life, allow me to be your husband in the next one
With love, Sanemi."
He thought for a moment before tossing the paper to a trash can. 'I don't think he'll ever accept it.' He thought.
After he finished, he heard some footsteps and saw Giyuu, his hair was full of Japanese cherry blossom petals and he grabbed his hand.
"The cherry blossoms outside are beautiful! We should go see them!"
Giyuu spoke calmly and grabbed Sanemi by the hand leading him outside and looking at the trees.
"Aren't they so pretty?" He spoke quietly "Just like you" Sanemi answered in a whisper "Huh?" "Oh, it's nothing, forget about it." After watching the trees for a few more minutes Sanemi went back inside and prepared food for Giyuu. When Giyuu came inside the food was ready so he just had to sit down and eat.
After all of that, their day went like always, doing house chores, taking care of the flowers and exercising, cutting wood, etc.
At night, Sanemi went to his room and tried to sleep but he couldn't... How could he? After all, he could've handed Giyuu that letter and it would all end, but he, even as the retired wind hashira, was a coward to do it. He just couldn't bring himself to do it. What if things went wrong and Giyuu ended up leaving and he lost contact with him? What will he do then? After some moment of thinking, he finally fell asleep, dreaming of picking stars and going to the moon only for the person he truly loved and has ever understand him.
