As Charlotte got out of her car, she walked towards the restaurant. The younger girl was a bit later as she got stuck in traffic for a bit. The cold wind whipped at her cheeks, making her feel at ease. It was slowly seeping into winter, Charlotte happy to escape the heat for a while. She walked up to the door, her eye catching all of her friends at a table. Hayes must have gotten there early, which was a rare occurrence. The man didn't like Charlotte at all.
He actually scared the girl to be honest. He reminded her too much of her dad. The tall gangly body, messy brown hair, judgy brown eyes. But that was besides the point, she had to like the man. For Gracie.
Charlotte pushed open the door, sniffling due to standing out in the cold for longer than she thought. Olivia was the first to notice the girl, calling her over happily. "Char! Char, over here!"
The Jones' girl smiled softly, walking over to the table.
"Hi guys." Charlotte waved, looking at everyone at the table.
Conan, Abby, Olivia and Audrey all grinned once they caught eye of the girl.
"Come sit next to me." Conan patted the seat next to him as the table was engulfed into conversation again.
Charlotte smiled softly at the boy as she sat down. "Hey Cone."
"Long time no see." He giggled.
The two began to talk, Charlotte feeling eyes burning into the side of her head.
She didn't look to see who it was, but she definitely knew. Hayes cleared his throat before tapping his beer glass with a fork. "Now that everyone is here," The man stopping to look at Charlotte. "Me and Gracie have something we'd like to announce."
Conan furrowed his eyebrows as he watched Hayes stare at Charlotte. He didn't like the man either. To quote him, "He reminds me of that one squeaky grocery cart in the shops. No one fucking likes him."
Charlotte watched as Gracie squirmed uncomfortably in his grasp. He had his arm wrapped around her waist, other hand gripping his glass.
The table waited to hear the news as Charlotte's phone began to ring. She pulled it out quickly, turning it to silent and placing it back into her jean pocket.
"You can answer it if you'd like." Olivia nodded towards her phone, the raven haired girl shaking her head.
"It's okay. It can wait. What was the announc-" Charlotte was then interrupted by her phone again as Hayes sighed loudly.
"Just answer it. This announcement doesn't affect you anyways." He spat, earning a confused look from her towards the man. Charlotte looked down at the floor before grabbing her phone and getting up.
"I'll just take this outside." She muttered before walking out of the restaurant. She stared down at the contact on her phone, eyebrows furrowing.
It was her manager. Answering the call, she was met with a loud sigh.
"Charlotte! Finally!" Hugo sighed.
"Hey Hugo, what's up?"
"I have some exciting news. You sitting down?"
"No. I'm standing outside a restaurant." The raven haired girl chuckled.
"Well there's actually two parts- and I'm pretty sure... well not-" Hugo rambled.
"Hugo. What's going on?" She interrupted the man.
"Okay. So, Do you know the script I gave you a few weeks before new years?" The man ask as Charlotte thought..
