I turned towards the source of the noise, a woman who appeared to have walked out of a dream. It wasn't any woman, but her. But the dream ended soon when I realized she has slipped. I hurriedly caught her and she landed on my arms. Eyes shut closed in fear. I'm not sure, but my breath caught. I'd seen beauty in art sunsets and the pages of old novels, but this was ethereal.

She slowly opened her eyes and it meet mine but my gaze fell on her mole, which was just below her collarbone. Her big, almond-shaped eyes housed galaxies within. They were lined with kohl to emphasize their depth. As soon as our gazes met, she came to a stop. I didn't want to feel this, but it seemed like I was falling, plunging into a universe where only she existed.

"You can let me go now" she whispered and I came back to the reality. I was about to make her fall on the ground but no, she has just recovered from her hand injury. Dropping the idea I made her stand on her feet. "Thank you so much" she whispered and I nodded in return.

"Hello Vid, are you there?" Aditya's voice disturbed my thoughts, and I realized he was still on the line. I hurriedly took my sight away from her and hung up the phone.

I felt her presence near me but did not glance at her again. Especially not in her eyes again.

"If you are done staring at me then shall we move out?" I inquired, and her eyes widened; she quickly diverted her face and was now looking everywhere but me. I settled into the driver's seat, and she unlocked the backseat; she was ready to sit inside, but I stopped her.

"Am I looking for a driver for you?" I inquired, and she quickly shook her head, no.

"Why are you sitting there? "Sit here," I urged, motioning for her to sit in the passenger seat, but she gave me an irritating look.

"You were the one who asked her to sit behind the first day, remember?" My thoughts taunted me, and I recall that day. "No" I said, yes I did but I can't lose but she didn't move and kept staring at me. What is it that she wants now? Oh God, why is she so irritating? I'm not going to say anything to her directly.

"If you want to miss your sister's wedding, feel free to stand there," I told her, giving her an irritating look. Her eyes widened, and she sat down in the passenger seat. I gave her some time to settle entirely and properly, and she closed the door after her lehenga was totally inside the car. She stared at me, and I closed the door.

"Seat belt, Miss Sharma," I reminded her, and she promptly tightened her seat belt. I wore it as well and eventually started the engine. As the ride began, Ada stared out the window and asked him to keep the windows open, feeling the chilly breeze on her face.

"Are you okay?" I inquired, breaking the silence. My voice was a little too loud, which revealed my own uneasiness. She looked at me with a forlorn smile, "I'm good..... It's just... overwhelming. "It's been decades since I saw them," she murmured, looking to the front, and I nodded. I could feel her glance at me from time to time, but I didn't return the favor. The Google map told me to turn left, and I did.

The car rounded a bend, and there it was: her house, with whitewashed walls covered with marigold garlands and lights. The expansive field was decked with dazzling fairy lights, a disco, and colorful drapes. As visitors arrived, the atmosphere was electric with excitement. Their party clothing adds vibrancy to the festivities. The courtyard was alive with bustle. A group of people moved about, their laughing reverberating throughout the hall. I stepped out of the car and adjusted my tie. I am not sure why I'm nervous, but I am.

I noticed her sitting inside, constantly fraying her fingers. I went to her side and opened the door for her. She stared at me first, then at the entryway, and then back at me. Her eyes say more than her words. She was nervous but delighted, so I nodded and extended my hand to her; she grabbed it and stepped out of the car. I assisted her with her lehenga, and she eventually exited the car appropriately.

I honestly don't understand why girls wear items that only generate difficulties for themselves.

She correctly arranged her hair and lehenga before looking up to see her residence. It was a large house, like ours. I waited for her while she was appreciating her childhood home, possibly because childhood memories flashed in front of her eyes. I respected her feelings and gave her some time.

'Aww... what a good fiancé you are, Vidyut,' my subconscious brain teased. I wish I could slap it sometimes.

We've been standing there for a long time, and she hasn't moved, so I should break the silence between her and her memories. "Shall we go inside?" I muttered something to get her attention, and she looked at me and nodded. We stepped forward when she mouthed 'sorry'. Whether she knows it or not, she is holding my suit. I didn't jerk her hands off; perhaps she was nervous.

As we came inside the house, I recognized faces; because Diya Sharma and Advait Agnihotry are both businesspeople, there were many well-known individuals present. I stared at Ada; her eyes were looking for something or someone.

"Ada," I said, and she looked at me. "You go and search your family, I am here."

"You don't know anyone here. I can't leave you. What happens if you need something? As you know, Mr. Agarwal, this is my residence, and you've come with me. I placed my index finger against her lips, prompting her to close her mouth.

"Kitna bolti ho yaar?" I asked but she bite my finger, "Muh hai bolne ke liye hi" she replied with a smirk.

"Who asked you to bite me?" I asked with a frown, "My teeths?" she smiled. I was about to say something when I heard a female voice calling Ada. That lady was dressed in a purple embroidery lehenga, and when I looked at Ada, her eyes widened and moist. I looked back at the lady in front of us, but before I could react or say anything, Ada dashed towards her and hugged her.

Perhaps she is her sister?

I stayed there for a while before seeing some more recognizable individuals. I left the sisters because I didn't want to be the third wheel in their relationship. I went to the garden and met a few business partners with whom I've previously worked.

I looked across to the mandap, where the groom, Mr. Advait Agnihotry, was already present and performing the ceremonies. He was clothed in a white sherwani and appeared devilish and attractive. I avoided the bar counter since, as her fiancé, I cannot offend anyone here. It's her family, and they'd like to meet me, who is also their daughter's prospective spouse. The word husband has so many responsibilities and duties. I looked about for her, but she was nowhere to be found.

I could feel people looking at me as I stood there. I did not budge from my position because I didn't care what they were looking at. For once, my gaze fell onto the groom himself.

The priest added, "Please call the bride," and Rishi Khanna, clothed in a crimson embroidery sherwani, nodded. According to Shrayan, Rishi was first adopted by the Sharmas and later by Aman Khanna, one of the city's greatest and most revered men.

But Rishi declined to work for his company; instead, he became Diya Sharma's assistant. I already knew that the entire Sharma family was a mystery to me, but this family is completely unlike mine. Ada detailed them, but her smile faded as soon as she mentioned her father, which was very fishy.
