chapter ten ꩜ trash talknow playing: so american by olivia rodrigo
↻ ◁ II ▷ ↺"DUCK," Lincoln warned Clyde, but McBride didn't obey. The basketball hit him right in the head, and he had to take a second to recover. The boy in orange turned around, knowing exactly who he was going to find.
"You moved as fast as a refrigerator," Lynn complained, like Clyde should've known beforehand. "We got a big game against the Billy Goats tomorrow, and Coach says I gotta stop with the trash talk, so I'm trying to get it out if my system."
"Don't you have Jules' number? Call her up." Clyde whispered, rubbing his head. Lynn said nothing, and looked at Lincoln.
"She can't, they're friends now," her brother explained, and Clyde widened his eyes like crazy.
Lynn cut him off before he could ask. "Can I hit you with some more or are you too much of a little baby?"
"As tempting as it sounds, I'm gonna have to pass. But good luck in the game," Lincoln smiled, and turned to his room followed by his best friend.
Lynn sighed, because no one in the house was apparently down to get absolutely roasted. Stupid.
"You call that a robot, Lisa? Does that thing even shoot lasers!? Ow! Ow! Okay!"
So, what Coach said was true, she needed to work on the trash talk thing, but Lynn also had her own motives to not let the impulse win in that game. The reason had a name and a surname, and a very cute smile: Jules Chung.
With all their friendship thing, Lynn had been considering to stop with the backhanded comments directed to Jules. She thought about the jog a lot, and wanted to improve her sweetness again because she didn't want Jules to only know her because of her anger.
So, what better excuse than a game?
A game Jules would be attending to, because Lynn kept unintentionally bragging about it and fucked up because now she was nervous.
