HERE, there were many common sayings on your 18th birthday. Particular ones were that any wish you would make would literally come true, you would meet your soulmate, etc. Many people testified to the beliefs. But of course, many people thought they were myths or just dumb ideas.
Nevertheless, two people from different places decided to give the alleged myth a chance, it being their only ring of hope on that single wish on their birthday. And with that last beam of hope, the pair thought of it more lightly than they expected, a quiet wish coming out of their mouths before they could even think-or if they were even doing so. One thing they had in common was the desperation in their souls, wanting to run away from reality. Little did they know it would pave the path of a new journey intertwining their lives into one another.

Haeyul's perspective
"Make a wish, dear!" The bonny voice of her mother sounded throughout the room, impatiently waiting for her daughter, none other than Seong Haeyul, to do the well-awaited action.
She paused as her thoughts roamed around through the depths of the wishes in her mind that she has had ever since she was a little girl. She looked around her for a brief moment, all the smiles of her loved ones beaming, as if a light had shone throughout the room because of them. Because of her. It took some moments to process that. She was grateful beyond words for the love they gave her.
If only they knew the thoughts she had everyday. A tinge of sadness made it's way to her mind, recalling both the happy and sad wishes she had thought of during her life. The things she had experienced ever since seventh grade had all went downhill from then on. Flashbacks of memories of her crying in the bathroom, to wanting to no longer be on this earth had unwillingly appeared in her mind. She took a deep breath, the memory slowly disappearing from her thoughts as she went back to reality. She didn't want to be a burden anymore. Everything in her life made her tired of living. But she didn't want to die, she just wanted an escape for once. Her mother's words from a minute ago had repeated in her mind.
Make a wish.
She closed her eyes, removing every other thought that could disturb this one last hope she had to live.
"I want to escape from this reality." She let the wish be spoken in her mind, opening her eyes as she blew out the candle. She looked up. Her loved ones were still smiling from ear to ear, unkowingly causing a soft smile to creep up on Haeyul's lips.

Heeseung's perspective
A similar scene was being made in another world-if you could call it, and it was unfolding through none other than Lee Heeseung's birthday. It wasn't a big celebration, but it was certainly a joyful one.
"Now make a wish, Hee. Who knows, maybe you'll find your soulmate?" His older brother nudged his shoulder, a playful tone in his voice.
Heeseung rolled his eyes, "You know I don't care about that stuff."
"Oh, stop with the banter you two." The figure of his mother quickly emerged from the kitchen, scolding her sons. "Now hurry and make a wish." She urged on to the younger boy.
Heeseung sighed, reluctantly closing his eyes to make said wish.
Most likely, you guys are wondering what wish he made. Unfortunately, I won't tell it.
Well, not yet at least.
A hint I'll give, though.
He shouldn't have made the wish.
