I just see Rainbow more of the type to be fruity. HOWEVER, it is just a headcannon. So ofc you can have your own headcannons, as long as you're respectful it's fine.
Really, I do think it's a decent ship and again the fanart is quite cute.
I haven't watched fim in quite awhile as my eqg phase is brain rotting right now, but I do believe they had moments? Not too sure
