"The Wrong Feelings" - Chapter 2

The next day Jacob woke up with a headache. He groaned as he went to the kitchen, his dad was still asleep, he'd have to wake him soon. He opened the cabinet looking for the Tylenol, he sighed as he found the bottle and opened it. No pills. I'll have to get some then, he thought. After staring at the empty pill bottle he was contemplating if it was worth it, but the sharp pain in his head confirmed that. Finally getting enough motivation he went to his room, it was quite small but held all his stuff really well. He noticed a Metallica shirt lying on the bed so he slipped that on before slipping on some sweatpants, a black jacket (accompanied by many holes in the sleeves) and his shoes. The town wasn't too far of a walk from the reserve, plus his dad was even closer to town than the rest of the tribe. He grabbed his phone before walking out the door, he glanced at the motorcycle, it would be quicker, but maybe a walk will be better, he thought. He then made his walk to town. It was about 30 minutes out plus he was thinking of stopping by Bella's house finally and chatting. It had been so long since he'd seen her, plus he wanted to discuss Edward.

When he arrived at town he stopped by the convenience store to grab some Tylenol, since he was stopping he grabbed some peach flavored water and a granola bar. As the lady was scanning his items he looked out the window of the shop noticing a CD and record shop nearby. He had been wanting some new music anyways so he decided to stop. But first he had to take the Tylenol, as the lady finished scanning his stuff he grabbed the things thanking her and stepping out, quickly he grabbed a pill from the Tylenol container and swallowed it with his peach water. Finally sighing as the relief set in slightly he made his way to the next door CD shop.

When he stepped in the CD shop he immediately liked the atmosphere. It was warm, he always liked the warmth. It smelled like sea salt and coffee. One of his favorite smells. When he glanced at the CD's he chuckled warmly. A Mariah Carey cd, next to Metallica. God that was funny. Definitely an interesting duo though, he thought to himself. As he glanced over around the shop he noticed records. A boy was looking at them.

Shit.

It was Cullen. Again. God he couldn't get a break from him. Edward then looked up from his searching through records. They made eye contact. Jacob looked away awkwardly. He noticed Edward was in the classical music section. Something he never really associated with the vampire before. But to each his own Jacob thought shrugging. Jacob sighed realizing he might need to talk to Edward anyways since he wasn't sure where Bella even was. He walked over. "Hey Cullen, where's Bella?." He asked, giving the man a glare. Edward snickered. "Come back for me, huh?. Never thought of you as an obsessive type. Oh wait. I kinda did." Jacob rolled his eyes before looking down. Something about Edwards smug face always managed to piss him off. More than normal... Jacob glared at him with his pale brown eyes. One thing people thought was the nicest thing about him. Yet something so harsh. Edward backed up. "not now Jacob. Listen, I'm just trying to get a record. And Bella's out of town, visiting her mom in Florida. Sorry to disappoint you wolf boy that you can't show off that no shirt wearing body of yours." Edward teased. Jacob sighed again. He didn't have the energy to deal with him. Not now. He couldn't visit Bella either.

He turned to leave but stopped. Something in him couldn't make him leave. "Why are you buying records anyway, Cullen?" he questioned. He has always wanted a record player and if Edward has one he was interested then, maybe they could settle a bit of their hatred for each other. Maybe. Edward smiled lightly. A genuine smile he didn't expect from such a stoic guy like himself. "I really like classical music. Bach, Debussy, Brahms, Mozart. All of them really. Bella thinks it's odd sometimes, but we both know her. She doesn't even really like the rain." Edward said, huffing at the last part. You like the rain, Jacob noted. Edward nodded. He then started looking through records again. His eyes were scanning the artist's names quickly. Faster than anyone he has ever seen. Jacob glanced away picking out a Deftones cd for himself. When he and Edward had picked out their things Jacob looked up a bit at him. Something about Edward felt human then. Something that he never saw in the vampire before.

Humanity.

When Jacob checked out his CD he turned to Edward. "You know Cullen. If you weren't a vampire and me a wolf . You and I might actually be friends." He spoke quietly, chuckling some. Edwards' skin was pale and subtly glinting in the sun. He didn't know what changed but Edward wasn't as bad to him now. Edward smiled. "Yeah right. If you can't handle me now, Black, I don't know what you'd do if you were stuck with me." he snickered slightly tilting his head. Jacob couldn't tell if he was joking or not but he guessed that was all part of the stoic vampire part. He reached his hand out to shake. It was cold. Colder than anything alive. It was dead. He knew that. Yet it still surprised him. When Jacob turned to leave he smiled. Finally heading back to the reserve. To the house to wake his dad.

As he walked home he heard the other pack boys. They were hollering for him and jumping around him, they playfully snagged his hair and pushed him around. A form of affection to the pack. The youngest member, Seth Clearwater, who was 15 at the time ran quickest toward him. "Whoo!! Jake! Finally your back. Me and the pack are going to the field to practice our shifting. Paul thinks we need to work on it more. Especiallyyy me. So, do you wanna come?" Seth asked excitedly. It was about 10:30 am now and morning training was always hell. Especially with Paul. He was tougher than the others. But it would be worth the practice. He smiled ruffling Seth's short black hair. "Sure Seth. Just let me wake up my Dad." he nodded. He then ran back to his house and unlocked the door. Heading to his dad's room Jacob quietly knocked on the door. From inside he heard a faint 'come in' and opened the door. His father was lying in bed and he nudged him awake and helped him into his wheelchair. Jacob let his father know he was leaving to go with the pack memebers and he said goodbye meeting Seth, Paul, and the rest of the pack back at the field.
