FLASHBACK
"I am going to kill them," Shawn said, resting a hand on your shoulder. Before Big Show and Angle could attack you, Hunter and Shawn had come to your rescue.
Once you were safely in the back, Hunter pulled you into a hug. "I'm sorry, if I knew that was their plan, I never would've sent you out there alone."
You returned his embrace, "really, I'm fine," you reassured, "and you couldn't have known."
"I'm still going to kill them," Shawn repeated, "I want Edge and Orton tonight." Without another word Shawn went out of the room seemingly to request a match with Rated RKO.
"He knows you still have the match with Angle and Show tonight, right?" you asked Hunter.
Hunter shrugged, "honestly, I think he still thinks it's Summerslam."
You laughed and walked out with Hunter trying to find Shawn. While you were looking around the arena, you heard your name being called.
You turned and came face to face with Randy. Before he could get another word out, Hunter stepped between you, "you better turn around before I slam your head into the floor," he threatened.
Randy put his arms up, "I'm not here for a fight," he said, "I only want to talk to her."
"No," Hunter replied, crossing his arms, "I think you've done enough talking today."
"Please," Randy said, "I want to apologize."
You stepped out from behind Hunter, but he remained close to your side, "you want to apologize for leaving me as bait? Or apologize for not doing it yourself?"
"I deserved that," he replied, "but seriously, I'm sorry. We had no idea you would be the one to come out. And I didn't think Angle and Show would actually come out if Hunter and Shawn didn't."
Hunter huffed, unimpressed. Randy ignored him and took a step closer to you, "I am truly sorry."
You nodded once to accept his apology but said nothing. Hunter didn't move, but his face told Randy his time was up. He nodded and turned to leave. Once he was out of earshot, Hunter stepped in front of you.
"You're nicer than most," he said, a knowing look on his face.
You shook your head, "I believe it wasn't his plan."
"Then he should have tried to stop it," Hunter said.
"I know, but I get why he didn't," when Hunter looked at you curiously, you continued, "I'm not his ally, why put his body on the line for me?"
Hunter shrugged, "respect, chivalry, decency, I could keep going."
You rolled your eyes and continued to walk through the arena, "come on," you said, letting Hunter fall into step with you, "we have to go see what kind of trouble Shawn has gotten into unsupervised."
