If this gets enough love (or even a little) I will possibly make it into a book!! Thanks for reading either way! (づ ̄ 3 ̄)づ

Jeonghan's best friend, Jisoo, has been there for everything. They've been there for Jeonghan's coming out and his first heartbreak. They were there when Jeonghan moved out and into his own place. Jisoo was there throughout high school and is still there. Jeonghan truly treasures them and has been there through most of Jisoo's hurdles. The only big thing Jeonghan missed was that Jisoo came out as nonbinary. They did this the summer before high school, the summer before the two met.

Jeonghan and Jisoo had become fast friends, instantly clicking. The two were thick as thieves and always made time to catch up despite their busy schedules. Like today, Jisoo and Jeonghan had a free day and decided to spend it together. After all, they hadn't seen each other in about two weeks. That might not seem like a long time to some, but to them, it's too long.

As Jeonghan walked the familiar sidewalk toward his and Jisoo's favorite coffee shop, he hummed a sweet tune. He's always in a good mood when seeing his friend. Rounding the corner, Jeonghan spotted the mop of messy, shoulder-length black hair that belonged to Jisoo. They were sitting outside at a table for two, and as the blond got closer, he noticed how the soft breeze made that mop of hair shift with every gust. He saw how the sun's rays seemed to grace Jisoo's pale face, slight makeup glittering in the light. They wore a thin, light green long-sleeve french-tucked into dark brown, high-waisted slacks with an over-the-shoulder bag. The sweater hung off of one shoulder, exposing more of their skin.

Contrary to the flowy clothes Jisoo wore, on their feet were a pair of heavy black combat boots with their pants tucked into those. Jeonghan wore an outfit that complimented Jisoo's. He wore loose, olive green with a simple white tee fully tucked in, a black leather jacket, and brown dress boots. His pants were cuffed just right, allowing the view of his shoes.

The slightly older recognized Jisoo's shoes as a gift pair he had bought.

He didn't realize he was stopped next to Jisoo, taking in their - what's the word? It's not beauty; it's something more. Jeonghan finally snapped out of his trance - a recently common occurrence - when Jisoo turned to face him. "Hannie!" they cheered, standing up and smiling brightly. "How have you been?" Jisoo's voice is light, nearing breathy, and alluring. A familiar mix of aromas filled his nose when they pulled Jeonghan in for a hug. Eucalyptus, lavender, and lemongrass. It's an almost sweet smell, but not quite. It's more earthy than anything - a scent that Jeonghan has come to find comfort in.

"I've been good!" Jeonghan replied. Compared to Jisoo's voice, Jeonghan's seemed rough, yet his voice was soft and sweet. Reciprocating the embrace, he noticed something different today and couldn't grasp it. Jisoo appears to be glowing. "How have you been?" As the two sat down, falling into casual conversation, Jeonghan couldn't seem to tear his eyes away. While Jisoo caught him up on anything new with them, Jeonghan was all ears. He listened intently, as he always did, to what Jisoo said.

"Hello! Are you ready to order?" Jeonghan kept his gaze on Jisoo as they turned to the waitress to converse.

"I'll have a banana-nut muffin and an Americano, please." The waitress wrote down the order, turning to Jeonghan with an expectant look. Jisoo also turned to him, catching his eyes with theirs. "Hannie? What are you ordering?" they asked, smiling softly. Jeonghan coughed and turned his attention to the waitress.

"I'd like to have a blueberry muffin and an Americano, please," he said. The waitress nodded and wrote down his order before excusing herself. Jisoo giggled quietly, drawing Jeonghan's attention back. "What?" he questioned.
