"Hello?" Hanbin answered the call. "Oh, hello, Mr. Jay... Yes, I'm good... No, no- No issues... Sorry, we're not at home right now, so if you could come here and give it to her, it would be a huge favour... I really appreciate your help, sir. Yes, I'll send you the location. Yes, yes, thank you so much."

"Was it Hoseok?" I asked once he ended the call.

"Yes. He said you forgot your phone where you met him today. So I asked him to come here and give it to you."

Something twisted inside my chest and blocked my ability to breathe.

So... today I will get to witness my ex-boyfriend interrupting my date with my potential future-boyfriend...? Is this a prank, dear life?

Also, where did he get Hanbin's number from?

Hanbin stood up from his seat and handed me his phone. "I need to visit the washroom real quick. So, keep my phone with you, in case Mr. Jay calls while I'm away."

I nodded, taking his phone as he walked away to find the restroom.

It feels weird knowing that Hoseok is going to come here when I'm here on a date with Hanbin.

And for some reason, my heart just kept beating faster as moments passed with me waiting for the man to arrive.

"Sorry for the wait, ma'am, here's your order." The server placed the dishes on the table, making my mouth water just at the sight of them.

"Thank you-" I stopped midway through the greeting when I looked at the man in the red and black uniform, smiling at me warmly.

"Good to see you here, Y/n." He said, his smile showing genuine happiness. "How have you been?"

I blinked at him, multiple times, trying to believe what my eyes were showing me. "Yeah," I managed to pull a smile but I still didn't know how to react to this sudden encounter. "It's good to see you again, Kai."

Suddenly, his smile faded a little as if he remembered something. "I'm sorry, I know it must be uncomfortable for you to see me again," He looked down for a couple of seconds before looking at me again with a weak smile as if he was trying to hide his true feelings. And it looked like he was actually sad. "I hope you have a great night."

"Kai," I stopped him when he started walking away. "I didn't mean to react that way. I was just surprised to see you here... I'm sorry,"

He turned to me again with his smile appearing back on his face. "Well, I didn't expect to see you here either." He chuckled a little.

I smiled back as he came to my table again. "Do you work here?" I asked.

"Part-time," Kai shrugged but I didn't fail to notice the blush on his cheeks, though it lasted only for a quick second. "I come here occasionally to help my boyfriend run the restaurant."

"Oh, I see-"

Wait.

"Your boyfriend??"

He said his boyfriend, right?

Kai chuckled as his cheeks flushed with red tint. "It's a long story,"

I just nodded my head in a daze with a thousand questions flooding my mind.

"Did you come here with Jung Hoseok?"

My smile dropped after hearing his question. My heart ached while I looked away. "I... well, actually..."

Should I tell him about our break up? I don't know how he will react after everything that happened in the past...
