SYNOPSIS.

Elara Reed struggled enough as it was, but when her life takes a sudden turn for the worst the night she finds her mother and sister dead, she doesn't know how she's going to find the will to continue. As she spirals into a pit of darkness that she can't seem to escape, the world becomes a scarier place when she finds out there's so much more to it than she ever could have realized.

AUTHOR'S NOTE(S).

Dear reader, first I'd like to say that I'm very pleased that you've taken the time out of your day to read my story, and I hope it'll be worth your time. I've worked hard on it, and I hope it brings you some form of entertainment. Please keep in mind that this is an original story of mine and therefore, Elara and all the characters belong entirely to me. Anything produced from this story is from me alone, so if you see plagiarism of any sort I would appreciate it being brought to my attention immediately.

Before we jump right into it, there are a few things I wanted to yap about for the sake of my readers sanity -

i. Please be advised that this book is not intended for the light of heart. If you are easily disturbed by subjects such as death and suicide, please avoid this book and put your mental health first. While this is supposed to be a novel based around ghosts and vampires, the most terrifying part is the ongoing struggle with mental illness, and while I hope to bring representation to the plot I don't want you to feel uncomfortable while reading it. I will not be offended if you are unable to continue it for your own health.

ii. At the moment, there are no explicit sex scenes in this book, but it does imply it in certain ways, some of which happened while she was a minor. However, it doesn't go into detail while she's a minor and it's only mentioned for background. However, she's an adult in this book and part of her struggle is overcoming being taken advantage of and how it affects her adult life.

iii. The chapters are designed to be longer, so if you aren't a fan of long chapters then this might not be the story for you - but I believe in full immersion for best reader experience, so I tried to make it that way on purpose. Hopefully it's not too boring for you.

and finally, I just wanted to say that writing this book has been a passion of mine for as long as I could remember, but I never thought I'd actually get around to doing anything with it. I've been taking it to the writing center at my university to have it peer reviewed, and my plan is to finish it here so I can send it to a publisher. I've also submitted it for the Wattys this year, so we'll see how it goes. I write for myself but I also want to write something my readers will actually like. So for those who are a fan of the dark romance and generally angsty bullshit genres, I hope you enjoy.
