Awakenings and Introductions

Amara's POV

Morning light streamed through the opulent windows, casting playful patterns onto the plush carpet of my new room. Gone were the stark walls and sterile atmosphere of the infirmary. Here, everything exuded a sense of history and wonder. A bookshelf overflowed with leather-bound tomes, some crackling with ancient magic. Mayroong balkonahe na nagmamay-ari ng magandang tanawin ng mga burol at mga bumabagsak na mga talon.

Ang excitement ay naglalaban sa kaba sa aking sikmura. Ngayon ang unang araw ko sa Elysium Academy! Ngayon, sa wakas, makikilala ko na ang mga miyembro ng Beta Squad beyond the fleeting glimpse in the infirmary.

Bigla nalang may bumukas ng pinto ng kwarto ko at niluwa nito ang isang Elara na excited much "Rise and shine, sleepyhead! First class is about to start."

Napahanga ako sa kanyang nakakahawa na enerhiya. Narito ang isang tao na tila lubos na kumportable sa kakaibang mundong ito. Marahil, konting kumpiyansa mula kay Elara ang kailangan ko.

Nag ayos na din agad ako ng mabilis dahil ayokong mag intay ng matagal si Elara, yung uniform namin dito, literal na  flowing robe adorned with intricate silver and gold symbols representing the Goddesses. Beneath the robe, we wear a button-up shirt or blouse with tailored skirt. A silk sash cinches the waist, woven with enchantments to enhance magical abilities. Completing the ensemble are a midnight blue velvet cloak lined with silver satin, gloves adorned with mystical symbols, and a crest or pin bearing the school's emblem. I didn't put much effort on my face as i don't have any makeups with me, so they will bear with my bare face... ahuhuh

Following Elara, I navigated the labyrinthine corridors of the academy, finally arriving at a grand hall pulsating with vibrant energy. Students clad in flowing robes practiced spells, their movements graceful and precise. Others sparred on a raised platform, clashing swords and hurling shimmering bolts of energy.

A hush fell as we entered, all eyes turning towards me. The girl with fiery red hair, the one who had questioned my presence, smirked. uh-oh, i can smell bitch here~~A group of hulking orcs whispered amongst themselves. I shrank back, feeling out of place and utterly lost. Well thankfully Elara held my hand.. naramdaman niya atang na OP ako sa aura na meron dito.

At the front of the class stood Kai, his wind-blown hair falling across his forehead as he expertly twirled a practice sword. at tila tumitigil ang ikot ng mundo ko... pero diba? kapag inlove ka, tumitigil ang mundo mo? char eme!  He glanced up, a flicker of surprise crossing his face, before returning his gaze to the other students. Ay nagulat ba siya sa mukha ko? grabe ba? e mas kasuklam suklam yung mukha ng ibang mga students nga dito o, huhu.

"Alright, everyone settle down!" boomed a booming voice. A middle-aged woman, her robes swirling around her like a whirlwind, strode into the room. Her eyes, the color of a stormy sky, swept over the class, landing on me. "Ah, Amara. You've finally decided to join us." as if i had a choice naman po ma'am? heheh e paladesisyon mga tao sa paligid ko..

"She's Professor Tempest, the head instructor for Beta Squad. Her reputation as a strict yet fair teacher was well-known." Elara whispered. Napa nod nalang ako sa englisherang toh.

"Welcome," she said, her voice surprisingly gentle. "Today, we'll be focusing on the fundamentals of elemental magic. Everyone, find a partner." huh? teka lang! anong find a partner? wala bang pa introduction muna?!!!

First day ko palang naman oh, maawa naman!

Everyone seemed to already have established friendships, their movements practiced and coordinated. wow parang sa normal realm lang a, pag mga besties, ka agad na sila ang mag partner, so sino partner kaya ni  Kai?--

 "You're stuck with me, newbie! Consider yourself lucky." Elara

Relief washed over me. At least I wouldn't be completely alone. Thanks, Elara. Pero mas okay if si Papa Kai-

Throughout the class, Elara proved to be a natural leader, guiding me through the basics of manipulating fire to create small sparks and warm gusts of wind. Well anong aasahan niyo sa newbie na gaya ko na wala namang alam sa mahika na yan? but still I managed to ignite a tiny flame with a determined flick of my wrist, a spark of pride igniting within me. OMG ACHIEVEMENT!!

But my triumph was short-lived.... BAKET? ANONG BAKET E During a sparring session, Kai paired me against a towering orc named Grug. Okay sana kung sa kaniya ako i-pair, kahit patayin niya pa ako, e masaya ako... E SA ISANG ORC BA NAMAN NA HIGANTE?!! GRABE KA NA FAFA KAI~

My lack of training was painfully evident as Grug effortlessly deflected my clumsy attempts to defend myself. He landed a blow on my shoulder, sending me sprawling to the floor. Shame burned in my throat. Gosh! sira ang beautykels~

As I lay there, winded and defeated, a hand reached down to help me up. It was Kai, his usually stoic face unreadable. "You have potential," he said gruffly, "but potential without practice is meaningless. Get up and try again." heh! para mo lang naman akong pinalapa sa aso!!

The day ended with Professor Tempest dismissing the class. Buti naman at early dismissal, kasi dapat mamayang gabi pa yung tapos ng klase, e kung hanggang mamaya pa yung klase, baka gutay gutay na ako mamayang gabi mga teh. Grabe yung pagod today, hindi nakakaganda! I joined Elara and Kai at the dinner table. Kahit masama ang loob ko sa ginawa ni Fafa kai. Kaya naman hindi ko ito tinabihan at si Elara lang ang kinakausap.

As we delved into a conversation about the academy's history and upcoming events, a strange pull tugged at my heart. A faint memory, a whisper of thunder and the kind yet fierce eyes of a man. Who was he? What did he have to do with my arrival at Elysium?

"Uhm, Amara, are you okay?" KAI

I was taken back to reality dahil sa tanong ni Kai.. grabe, pang ilang besses na yong nangyayare sa akim, Sino nga ulit yung nagtatanong? si kai? hmph deadma ka sakin!

"hahahahhhaha ikaw naman kasi Kai!" and for the first time, i heard Elara spoke TAGALOG a? pinagmamasdan ko lang ang tumatawang Elara at si Kai na confused na confused as if normal lang yung ginawa niya sakin kanina. These two... i hope makasama ko pa sila ng matagal.
