In every multi-billion dollar company, there will always be one part of it that was, will be, or is, corrupt. Corruption and criminal ties are usually the backbones and the foundation of vast, wealthy companies. Even if one were to try to sever ties with the backbones, supposedly the 'wrong' way of doing things, they would find it proving to be quite difficult. It was better to take advantage of the underground resources that stretch far and wide throughout the world, rather than wait for it to come back and bite them in the back.
Charles Milton understood this. He ensured his company was a powerful force underground.
His daughter, however, furthermore ensured that Adonis Industries would hold equal power in both the surface world and the criminal underground. Before her, Adonis Industries was not a company to cross, holding a powerful position in the criminal underground, half of the black market's economy.
After her, the company becomes untouchable not just underground, but also in the eyes of the general public. Ophelia Milton ensured that not only would Adonis conquer the black market, but also a sizable sum of the World's economy. Following her father's arrest due to herself, she expanded the company outwards from their pre-existing branches in New York, Paris, London, and Hong Kong, adding four new ones due to the increase of income after she took over from her father. to Australia, Mexico, Vancouver, and Dubai.
To the outside world, Adonis Industries was a company with no specialisation, having a hand into every market imaginable; Luxurious goods, alcohol, customised vehicles, robotics, biomanufacturing, security, and possibly more.
Prior to Ophelia and her father's reign, Adonis' history traces all the way back to the 1600s, to Adrian Reed's infiltration into one of the richest families of the time, the Miltons. Adrian Reed murdered Tobias Milton, the teenage son of Vanessa and William Milton, then proceeded to take his place utilising forbidden magic, reversing the effects of aging on himself.
Using the family's resources and continuing to use the forbidden magicks, Adrian, now only known to everyone as Tobias, seduced the entire world through the dark arts. Negotiations with other, smaller groups proved to be a trivial matter due to his use of magic, gaining subsidiaries with ease.
As Tobias grew past a certain age, his powers began to go downhill, contrary to the steady pace of growing for three centuries. Once he reached the 1900s, he decided to produce a sire, eventually naming him Charles Henry Milton. Tobias taught his child the art of magic, sharing the history of his life with him. Charles' mother was a distant relative of the original Miltons, and therefore, the outside world thinks he is the result of inbreeding. Only Tobias, not being the real son of the Miltons, and Charles himself knows of real truth. Charles was in fact not inbred.
Charles, approaching the 21st century, decided to also produce heirs for the company. Instead of settling with one woman, however, he paid every single one he slept with to never contact him after the birth of the children, along with ensuring he would have full custody over two of them. The idea was to produce genetically varied children, even if it was considered unfaithful or unorthodox, in hopes one would rise above the others in potential to succeed him one day.
And that, Ophelia Antoinette Milton did. After finding out her father's unfaithfulness to his wife, their 'mother', she decided to frame him for murder for being untruthful to her, and her siblings, her entire life.
Along with Ophelia (commonly known as "O"), there was Oliver Archibald Milton, known commonly as "Archie".
They were the only two children Charles put into the Adonis lifestyle. They knew they had other siblings, but O never dared to look at the records. And Archie didn't have the clearance. O made sure of that. The other children grew up with their mothers, away from the contrasting wealthy lifestyle Ophelia and Archie had.
