Caden awoke to find himself in a strange, bright place. He was no longer a small, beaten boy but a newborn baby, wrapped in soft, clean cloth and cradled in the arms of a beautiful woman with golden hair and kind, blue eyes.
"Welcome, my child," she whispered, smiling down at him. "I have been waiting for you for so long."
Caden looked around, confused and disoriented. He had no idea where he was or how he had gotten there. But as he looked into the woman's eyes, he felt a sense of peace and love that he had never known before.
"You have been reincarnated, my dear one," the woman explained. "You have been given a second chance to live, to love, and to make a difference in the world. But beware, for you have also been given a great burden to bear."
Caden did not understand what she meant, but he knew that he would do whatever it took to make her proud.
