Nobody Rohit met with had ever labeled him as narcissistic and difficult to work with. He also usually didn't really care what people had to say about him but he would admit, this one really hit the wrong spot.

Just like any other person, he was having one bad day, okay a couple of bad days maybe and he might have made it strenuous for a while but he was normally okay to work with. Or so he had faith.
He huffed as his sour mood only worsened.

Ever since he had walked in the cricket club for the first time with his uncle to when he was sitting in the dugout in his debut match, even though he didn't get to play, he knew cricket had consumed him completely.

The legacies he had grown up listening to and the one he had wanted to create of his own.

Rohit was vaguely aware he would have to give his everything to make his way up and he was ready for all the challenges and trails that would come up with it.

Trying to find his permanent feet in the Indian blues hadn't been easy either. He knew it was more brutal once he was in public eye, under constant scrutiny from the people and so called experts but Rohit was grateful, grateful for every chance he got to represent his country on any level.

He was also immensely grateful for the second family he had found in the team.

The cheers and applauds he had started his career with has started to dim down.

'Rohit Sharma' the name on everyone's tongue, yaar woh ek naya player aa raha hai was lost in the haywire. He seemed like a forgotten star. Despite the thundering start, his story was closing like dying star.

He sighed in tiredness as his headache only increased. He wasn't even half way through his day and was already in shambles.

Now that his manager had walked out of his vanity, leaving him alone with all the atrocious thoughts, he instantly felt guilty for being such an ass to him.

The fact that his career was going into drain was none of the manager's fault and he had been taken all his anger out on the poor soul.

He also realised, the first step towards realigning was to keep a check on his emotions, especially anger. He was very passionate about the sport but it never came out in the form of extreme aggressiveness until it did. The frustration of not scoring runs, constantly being in and out of the team, struggling to find any hold, Rohit realised he was turning into an anger ball and he didn't like one bit of it.

His family had raised him to be a kind and gentle soul, to being mindful about others emotions and thoughts and what was he doing? Rebuking others for no mistakes of their.

It was time to recalibrate his life and cricket but the first thing was to find another manager.

Nobody would want to work with him, this was the fifth manager who ran away in 3 months and with the kind of image he had formed of himself, he was sure, no one would be ready to handle the position.

He stared at his phone for a couple of seconds before gingerly picking it up and dialing his best friend's number.

"where have you been? I have been trying to get in touch since last night. Are you okay?" Virat rambled from the other end.

A small smile graced Rohit's lips, leave it to Virat to get protective about his loved ones.

"I'm okay Virat," Rohit reassured, "I slept early last night and right now I'm at this ad shoot."

Rohit heard some shuffling in the background and heard another familiar voice, "I haven't seen you in ages. Come join us for dinner today."

"hello to you too Anushka," he chuckled.

"don't hello hey me. If you don't come for dinner today, I won't let Virat in the room tonight, " she threatened.

"what have I done? Why are you being mean to me?"

"don't forget to click a picture and send it to me, I must frame it and secure it for future references." Rohit joined the harmless jib.

"Rohit saale benstokes-"

"Virat."

"sorry."

Rohit let out another chuckle on the banter between the adorable duo. Virat was an important part of his life and ever since him and Anushka started dating, she became just as special to him.
She was like a younger sister he never had.

"I actually called for something important guys," Rohit interrupted.

"yes yes, we are listening."

"I-well," he hesitated for a moment.

Oh well this was his family, they would never judge him, "I need a new manager."

Rohit bit his lower lip anxiously, waiting for a questioning round but it never came.

"of course Ro, I'll see what I can do." Virat assured calmly and Rohit let out a breath he didn't know he was holding.

He mentally thanked Virat for being understanding and not bombarding him. He didn't have any energy nor frame of mind to explain what was going on in his head and life.

Rohit was yet again reminded, quite fiercely, why he loved his best friend so much.

"it might take time but I do have an immediate solution, listen to me once," Virat spoke after a few seconds.

"no," but Rohit was vigorously shaking his head in negative. He knew what vile idea Virat had.

"listen to me once," Virat pleaded, "she is the best option right now. She is qualified and capable, around you age, calm, won't meddle in your personal life like that horrendous leech of a manager once-"

"I don't like her," Rohit declared childishly. He knew his options were very limited at the moment but the sole mention of her managing him had send his head spiraling.

He would never let her anywhere near himself or his sanity. He had made that mistake once and he wasn't going to make that twice. (yes he was)

"Rohit," Anushka cut in, "I think you should consider it once. Keeping aside your personal differences, you know she's good at her job and you don't have to see her all the time, temporary till we find you a permanent solution and she's trustworthy."

Rohit gulped as he considered the arguments. It was true, despite not liking her, he knew she was good even fabulous at her job. She was also Virat's cousin so he wouldn't have to worry about his personal matters leaking in the public. If they didn't interfere much into each other's business and maintained strict professionalism, they might be able to work together.

He sighed as he rubbed his temple, "okay, only till I find a permanent manager and if she agrees."

"of course, I'll invite her today for dinner as well so that you guys can discuss it in person, " Virat whooped cheerfully while Anushka clapped merrily making Rohit smile too on the other side, their happiness was really contagious.

He closed his eyes after putting his phone away and could only hope for the dinner to end without them fighting like kids, her heels on his feet and his hand pulling her hair would not be a nice dessert to end the dinner.
