<Episode 29>
Gamma Trail Lost
Sid and Emily follow Nero as he leads the trail to the west. He follows the gamma waves leading from the bloody massacre at the Genesis East Facility. On the GSR reader, a fading blue wave heads off to the west part of the city.
Emily: this is not looking good
Nero: what is it?
Emily: the gamma waves are starting to fade, in a matter of minutes we’ll lose the trail
She noticed a different blinking sound coming off from the device.
Nero: why is it making this sound?
He turns to look behind him and stares into Emily’s eyes. She so shocked by the fact that he turned to her she freezes.
Nero: Emily, I asked you a question
Emily: oh… I’m so sorry
Sid: Emily, time is of the essence
Emily: yeah, let me see
Emily grabs the GSR off of Nero’s hands and takes a look at it.
Nero: is the battery running low or something?
Emily: no, it’s not anything like that. I think maybe… it’s using too much power for some reason to make the reading
Sid: now what?
Emily attempts to think of what may be the reason for the device to be using so much power to make the reading. “it’s never done this before” she ponders.
Emily: Could it maybe be the fact that because now Leo’s ascended that it’s using up too much energy?
Nero snaps the GSR reader off of Emily's hands.
Emily: hey!
Nero: now I do this alone
Sid: no way!
Emily: Nero!
Nero jumps up into the air, creating distance from himself and the others.
Sid: son of a bitch! I should’ve known he’d pull some shit like this
Emily: what now?
Sid: we head off to the direction he’s headed. Come on
Emily and Sid head off in that direction.
They look back at the truck they used to come to this place. Sid jumps into the driver’s seat and attempts to start it up, but it fails. They share a second to stare at one another.
Emily: Sid? Make it work
Sid: I can’t… it refuses to get started. Damn! Aggh!
Emily: hey, calm down. We’ll catch up with him
With both his hands placed firmly on the steering wheel Sid bangs hard on it.
Sid: how did it come to this? We were so good… everything just happened in a flash
Emily stays silent without words to offer.
Sid: let’s just get out of here and find a way to catch up with him

Nero lands on one of the ever-so-high skyscrapers in the city. He glances onto the GSR and sees the gamma waves on screen.
Nero: there
He hurries and follows the direction on the reader.

Sapphire City.
Genesis Building.
Ainsley sits behind his desk, signing papers, reading the never-ending notes. His office phone rings, two rings and he answers.
Ainsley: yes?
G.S.S.: sir, we’ve finished the sweep at the City of Aramis offices
Ainsley: and?
G.S.S.: It’s just like you said, sir. We found several bugs placed. Sixteen to be exact
Ainsley: did you find all of them?
G.S.S.: I just sent in my men to do a second sweep to be sure but yes, I'm pretty sure that's all of them
Ainsley: good work
G.S.S.: sir, if I may ask. What does this mean?
Ainsley: it means my partnership with the military is on rocky seas. Tell me if you find something else
G.S.S.: yes sir
Ainsley cuts the call. He sits by his table, his fingers laced and rests his hands close to his mouth. He sits silently, thinking.
Ainsley: really General? You would spy on Genesis now?

Devastated Army Base.
General Cross’ office.
He stands outside the balcony of his office with his cigar in between his index and middle finger. He peers through the damaged land and wonders to himself.
Cross: (all this power wielded by one being. The destruction he’s caused is quite remarkable if I do say)
He takes in a pull of smoke into his lungs and blows it out.
Cross: (with power like this there's no need for him to have an army to fight by his side. I can see it now, he’s only a few moments to pillaging the lands and rule them. He’s got the power and means to do so already. So which brings the question. Why hasn’t he done so already?)
He breathes in another round of smoke and exhales, some of the smoke exit through his mouth and another half through his nose.
Cross: (maybe he doesn’t have the heart to do so. No. He has the heart to do it but he chooses not to. It could be that he’s waiting for his brother, so they could rule this world together. Or…perhaps…he’s not strong enough to pull something like that off right now…there must be someone out there who’s much stronger than he is…someone who can stop him if he tries.)
He ashes off the cigar and then rests it on his teeth.
Cross: (this world doesn’t need an unknown being to rule it, no. These people need someone they know, someone they can see to rule them. Someone like me. Which is why…I have to do this) I will be the dictator this world desperately needs. Someone to help guide these sheep…I know I can manage it, with the help from my secret scientists, I can do it. Just you wait
