"You sent her where!?"

Ian was pacing the floor in Hammond's room. How could the old man be this stupid? Why would he send her off on her own?

"Now Ian..." he started. "I need you stay calm."

"Stay calm?" He scoffed. "How in the hell am I supposed to stay calm?" He ran a hand through his black hair.

"This is research." John insisted.

"No," Ian countered, shaking his head. "This is idiotic that's what this is!"

The older man sighed. "Ian you've got to trust me on this one. She knows what she's doing out there. Do you not remember the park?"

Ian laughed dryly. "Oh trust me John, I remember the park. It's the one thing I simply cannot forget."

"Well then you remember how none of the dinosaurs tried to harm her!" Hammond smiled. "She'll be fine."

"That was four years ago when they were new to the world! This is now!" He yelled. "Who knows how aggressive they've become in the wild!"

"Ian you are blowing things completely out of proportion. I-"

"Blowing things out of proportion!" Ian thundered. He walked towards John, his eyes dark and his jaw clenched. "Just because you built her in a lab does not mean you can carelessly throw her into danger."

Hammond lowered his eyes, looking away from Ian. "You know about that?"

"Everyone knows about that." He shook his head. "Everyone except Olivia."

"Then you know why it has to be her that does this research." John said softly. "She's the only one that can."

Ian shook his head, his hands flexing anxiously. "I'm getting on a plane." He said flatly. "I'm going out there to get my girlf-" He cut himself off, glancing at John before correcting himself. "To get Liv."

Olivia smiled as she watched the dinosaur herd walk past her. She held up her camera, snapping as many pictures as possible. Unbeknownst to her, a few yards away Ian was franticly searching for her.

"Olivia!"

"Liv!"

"Olivia Grant!"

Ian turned to look at the man behind him. "How many Olivia's do you think are on this island?"Nick shrugged and the researchers and Ian continued to call her name.

As they neared where Olivia was standing she began to hear their voices. Of course she wasn't able to recognize them, and was more than shocked when she found herself staring down at Ian Malcolm.

She swallowed the rising lump in her throat and scanned over his face. His hair was short, like it was a buzz that he was letting grow out. His chin was covered in a scruffy beard and he looked like he had aged in the past six months.

But... he looked good. She still saw her Ian under that shirt hair and scraggly beard. While she was analyzing him, Ian was doing the same to her.

He was not the only one who had changed their hair. She used to keep her hair at shoulder length, now it fell about fife inches under her shoulders. He could see her stomach was toned and fit under the button up she had tied into a cropped shirt.

She looked beautiful. Like she had begun to age backwards. Ian didn't realize how much a person could change in six months but my God did he think she looked gorgeous.

"Hi Ian."

Her words made his eyes snap up to meet hers. He had missed hearing her voice.

"Hi Olivia." He said stiffly, trying not to show how much he missed her.

There was an awkward silence before she broke it, jumping down off of the fallen tree she was standing on. "How's Kelly?" She asked.

Ian scoffed. "Like you don't know." He looked down at Olivia. "I know she's been calling and talking to you."

She couldn't help but grin, snickering slightly. "Sorry."

"No it's ok." Ian sighed. "Not your fault she loves you more than me."

They both laughed for a moment, smiling at each other. Olivia realized how relaxed she was becoming and quickly stopped, returning to her awkward silence.

Ian noticed this and frowned, watching as she turned away from him. "Your hairs gotten longer." He commented.

"Yours has gotten shorter." She replied without turning to look at him.

He sighed, realizing there was no use in making small talk. "We found your bag." At this she turned around, finally noticing the bag he held in his hand. "It's pretty tore up." He raised an eyebrow.

"It's not that bad." She said taking it from him. "Besides these are old tears."

He scoffed. "Don't give me that shit."

"Ian those rips have been there since we-" She shook her head, walking forward. "Let's get to the truck it's almost dark."
