Joel Miller and Ellie Williams finally reach Jackson, and then Tommy, who is residing there. They also meet Lavender Reid, a 26 year old woman living just to the left of Tommy and Maria.
Lavender offers to house them for the time being, seeing as the other houses that were empty didn't have water or electricity yet. Joel finds himself in the living room watching the empty street at night as Lavender and Ellie sleep, nervous still after all the months out in the open cities. Lavender wakes up around 5 to get ready for the day, walking into the living room of her house to find a very testy Joel perched on her couch.
She tells him that he's safe here, blah blah blah, he doesn't listen. He just watches her very carefully as she brews coffee, pouring in a decent amount of creamer before taking the cup with her outside onto the porch to watch the sun rise. All the while, Lavender feels Joel's eyes watching her.
Whatever happens, Joel says he's leaving Ellie with Tommy. Lavender convinced him to take her and offered to go with. Ellie lav and Joel head out with a horse blah blah blah
Eventually they have to kill people and it freaked Lavender out. Joel calls her "too sweet" for what they're doing and that he's going to take her back to Jackson asap and they argue and she goes to slap him and he catches her wrist and kisses her.
