(Narrator's POV)
"It is done at last! I am truly a genius!!!" Peridot exclaimed as everyone else just looked at her in pure confusion while wondering what she was on her high horse about.
"OK. Since no one else will ask: What are you gloating about, Peri?" Lapis asked as Peridot laughed.
"I'm glad you asked! You see, I have achieved my greatest technological triumph! Not even Homeworld has ever managed to..." She began to go on...
"Just get to the point already, ya dip!!" Amethyst exclaimed as Peridot glared at her.
"As I was saying before the Purple Clod interrupted me, I have created a gateway into the Multiverse!!! Have you ever wondered what universes or dimensions are alternate to the one we reside in? What you could be like in one of them? Well my machine will allow you to find out!!" Peridot explained as Pearl scoffed.
"Multiversal travel? Peridot, that's absurd. Even for you. There's no such thing as alternate universes or alternate timelines or whatever nonsense you've been looking at on that tablet of yours. It's all just some fantasy made by the people of this planet, specifically the younger ones, who can't accept the faults in their lives and wish they could just have a different type of life instead of trying to better themselves. I'm just glad Steven never had this type of lunacy in mind...or at least I hope he didn't." The Pale Gem said as a familiar Dondai pulled up and out walked Steven.
"Hey guys. What's going on?" He asked as Peridot's pout went to a beaming smile at the sight of the hybrid as she ran up and hugged him, while sneaking a dirty smirk at Pearl.
"Steven! Pearl said a bunch of rude things about my new invention!" The Green Gem said, putting on a faux sad face as Pearl was flabbergasted.
"I did no such thing! I was only trying to tell her why Multiverse travel is impossible!" She exclaimed as Garnet glared at Steven….. before charging at him with a punch that he quickly dodged!
"Whoa! Garnet, what's with you?!?" Steven exclaimed as the fusion gave him a cold stare.
"You can't fool me. I know you aren't Steven. Because he just sent me a text message saying he was on his way here. So drop the act….Stephen." The fusion said as "Steven" began to laugh.
"Always the wise one, eh Garnet?" Stephen said as he shoved Peridot to the side before dodging a spear attack from Pearl and flooring her with an energy infused counterpunch.
"Stephen?!? Why are you here?!? Where's Steven?!?" Pearl exclaimed as Stephen laughed.
"I love how you forget that I have a Multiversal portal of my own in my own "Universe". As for Steven? He's at Connie's house. I ambushed them and stole his keys. And they should be arriving on Lion right about…." He began to say until a portal opened up and out came Steven and Connie on Lion, ready for a fight!
"Stephen!!!" Steven exclaimed as Stephen laughed again.
"Good to see you, Steven. Hope you don't mind me borrowing your ride. Sad to say, I don't have time to hang around. And really once I'm done? You and your dimension? You'll be out of time." He said before punching Peridot and activating her Multiversal portal before standing in front of it.
"Hear me, Steven Universe! This isn't over. I'll be back with my own allies. And then this dimension will fall to me! But just so you don't think I'm blowing smoke…" He said with a smirk as in an instant, he had taken down Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl, Peridot and Lapis before quickly tripping up Steven and grabbing Connie.
"You want her back? Come after me, Steven!" Stephen laughed as he dragged Connie through the Multiverse portal!
"STEVEEEEENNNNN!' Connie screamed as the two of them vanished into the Multiverse.
