Chapter 3

Chapter 3 Midnight Cage

Dr. Kyudai Garaki. His name by law, is Dr. Ujiko. The founder and chairman of Jaku Hospital. Secretly All For One's right-hand man.

This mad scientist pleads loyal to his master, and to assist him, has created multiple bioengineered humans with the capabilities to hold multiple quirks to carry out his plans. Nomus, he called them, due to their lack of brain function to think independently.

However, there was one specific Nomu that came as a surprise to both him and his master.

After seeing this strange occurrence, the doctor secretly moved it to another hospital and began experimenting on the Nomu, much to its dismay. He wanted to understand why his experiment acted the way it did in contrast to its brothers and sisters.

Failure after failure, it didn't matter as it still exceeded his expectations. After all, experimenting is all in the name of science.

After another day of testing, Dr. Garaki sits down on his office chair in the darkness of his lab and starts another one of his logs.

"Log number 68," He started, "Another test concluded on Chiteki, my wonderful creation. While she is silent for the majority of each session, I'm still uncovering many secrets left buried by human stubbornness."

He left out a huff of annoyance. Garaki, as a scientist and doctor has made multiple breakthroughs throughout his life. I say life because he's been alive for over 100 years or more. One such is the quirk singularity theory. With each passing generation, quirks will grow stronger and stronger, until eventually reaching the point where they cannot be controlled, and will lead to the destruction of humanity. But after hearing his theory, people rejected it, thinking it was a foolish idea created by an old man.

It doesn't matter anymore. All that is left is his master, All For One, and his creations which he calls his children. Even this one, though she is rebellious at times.

"Regardless of their cooperation, today's discovery-" He was cut off as a low bellowing sound came from the stasis chamber in the middle of the room. Normally he would be annoyed at being disturbed, however, this time he had a smile on his face.

Dr. Garaki got up from his chair and walked to the center of the room, facing directly at his 'special' Nomu in the chamber.

"Are you perhaps looking to chat today?" He asked his child. The Nomu have a special mask fitted to their face, allowing them to breathe and talk through it.

It responded with the voice of a young girl, "I wish to ask, one simple question..."

"I'm all ears." he granted it.

"Do you... care about me?" The Nomu questioned.

The doctor chuckled, "Why such a question?"

"When people care, they will help someone. It is because of their bond with the person they're caring for that drives them to protect. If one of them is hurt, then the other is also hurt." It explained, "You care for me, you called me your child, but all you ever done to me is break down my body before putting it back together. It hurts... If you truly care about me..." Their voice suddenly changed to a low menacing tone, "Do you not feel pain?"
