Late night office call.

_______________

1st POV:

As I sat in my dimly lit office, surrounded by stacks of papers and the soft glow of my computer screen, I couldn't help but wonder why I had chosen this life of perpetual exhaustion. Sure, I was pretty, with my tired eyes and sarcastic demeanor, but beauty didn't make up for the mountain of work that always seemed to pile up on my desk.

I absentmindedly tapped my pen against the table, trying to focus on the task at hand, but my mind kept drifting to thoughts of my boyfriend, Gojo Satoru. Ah, Satoru, with his dazzling smile and infuriating charm. He was everything I wasn't - energetic, carefree, and always ready to stir up trouble.

Just as I was about to lose myself in another daydream, my phone buzzed with an incoming FaceTime call. With a sigh, I glanced at the screen to see Satoru's face grinning back at me.

"Hey there, beautiful," he said, his voice laced with mischief.

I rolled my eyes.

"What do you want, Toru? I'm kind of in the middle of something here."

Satoru's grin faltered, replaced by a frown.

"Where are you, Y/n? It's late, you should be home by now."

I shrugged nonchalantly.

"Just drowning in paperwork, like always. Nothing new."

His frown deepened, and he let out an exaggerated whine.

"Come on, Y/n, you can't keep working yourself to the bone like this. You need to take a break."

I scoffed. "Easy for you to say, Mr. High and Mighty. Some of us actually have responsibilities."

Satoru pouted, his bottom lip sticking out in a way that was almost comical.

"But I miss you," he said, his tone turning slightly petulant.

I raised an eyebrow. "You see me every day, Satoru. We live together, remember?"

He sighed dramatically. "Yeah, but it's not the same when you're buried in work. I want to spend time with my beautiful girlfriend, not some stressed-out office drone."

I felt a twinge of guilt at his words, but I quickly pushed it aside.

"Sorry, Toru, but I really can't leave right now. Maybe next time."

He looked like he was about to protest, but then something seemed to shift in his expression. Suddenly, he was smiling again, making me raise a brow.

"Okay, Y/n. I understand," he said, his tone unusually somber.

"I'll let you get back to work. Take care of yourself, okay?"

I blinked in surprise. That was... easy. Too easy.

"Uh, yeah. Thanks, Toru. I'll talk to you later, I guess."

He flashed me one last smile before ending the call, leaving me staring at my phone in confusion. What had just happened? It was unlike Satoru to give up so easily, especially when it came to me. Something didn't feel right.

But before I could dwell on it any longer, my phone buzzed again with a notification. Another email, another problem to solve. With a resigned sigh, I turned back to my work, pushing thoughts of Satoru to the back of my mind.
