it was a late evening. me and charles just finished shopping for christmas, it's now dark. our friendship has mostly been quiet and silent, just the look alone from his eyes made me fall in love. but he doesn't know that i fell for him, i'm scared he'll reject me. and i think he already has a lover of his own, in the shopping spree session, he bought a necklace and a bouquet. and i questioned him about it, he just said it was for someone special.

now, we are walking around with multiple bags grasped by our fingers. it was cold, dark and cloudy. the air was frozen, to the point where you could see your breath. little rays of moonlight escaping from the clouds, shined apon the streets. streets with christmas lights hanging about everywhere. some lights where on trees, balconys, outside or inside homes. they made the streets light up (even though the lampposts were on), we gazed apon the big christmas tree in the middle of old, detailed buildings.

we decide to sit on the bench, perfectly placed to the side, so that you could look at the large tree. shining like a popstar on the podium.

we talked for a bit, not a full on conversation but leaning more on the 'small talk' side.
it got quiet, you could hear some noices from far away, children singing in a choir at doors nearby, a bell faintly ringing, other people wandering by the shops, etc.

we looked at each other, our faces outlined by the luminous christmas lights that belonged to the large tree. the twinkles in our eyes, the dainty smiles on each other faces, the delicate breeze flowing and the aura surrounding us. it's so breath taking.

the dark gray clouds shifted east slowly, making the crescent moon visible. it shined beautifully, her radiance shined onto windows of the buildings surruounding the tree. the love-lusting pressure in the frigid air was impossible to miss.
then, he placed his hand onto mine, my hands were a bit warm from putting my hands in my pockets almost all the time.
his hands were definitely colder than mine. our hand warmth mixed to the perfect temperature.

he pulled out the bouquet and pointed it at me and smiled a bit. with the look in his eyes I fell in love with, "for you," he said.
butterflies filled my stomach, i felt my facial cheeks becoming rosy even in the frosty weather. "thank you, charles." i gave a faint smile back, taking the bouquet.

then, he leaned in, so i did too.

we actually kissed, it felt like a wave of happiness and euphoria.
my heart skipped a beat,

so he does love me back.

I know it isn't christmas anymore, but I wrote this on christmas in my notes app. And I fixed it a lot for this, and my capital key was purposely was not used. Just to add to the atmosphere. Also, this is the photo that inspired me:
