Lamb

5 1 1

Oh Light of Heaven, roaring Lion,

Triumphant in both flood and fire,

Such nature worthy of our God,

But also in the little Lamb,

The little, gentle, humble Lamb,

The kind and patient dying Lamb

Who went to save a sinner's heart.

Lamb and Lion? Lion and Lamb?

Together as a man they stand

But not a man, as man will be

Saved by His actions, you and me

Saved by His actions on the cross

Saved by His actions, pain and loss

Saved by the Lamb who gave His all.

And is it right? And it is good?

That God above should bleed real blood

And suffer everything He could

For me, for sinful, wicked me,

For trustless, callous, fallen me

For me who knew not good or grace

That God above should mar His face

To see me set above on high?

No, He is Lion, also Lamb,

And in both Lion and Lamb I stand,

Not with any power of self

But with the Hero of Heaven's help

But with the Hero of Heaven's aid

But with the Hero of Heaven's grace

Saved by His empty tomb again,

The Lion Lamb will always win.
