"OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR RIGHT NOW!"

As I continued to wail, the banging on the door got louder and louder. My father engulfed me in a hug trying to calm me down. He then started to speak.

"I promise I'll meet you once I finish up here okay? Quick follow me." He said and dragged me to one side of the house. He touched a couple specific parts of the wall and a bookshelf on the other side of the house opened up. We ran over to it and he put in a password. I caught a glimpse of it, it was my late mothers birthday.. after he input the password a plant in a far corner moved aside and showed a button. We ran towards the button and he pressed it. Revealing a secret entrance behind the table the plant was rested on.

"Quick go inside! It leads outside, remember what I told you before okay?" My father said as he handed me the bag with all my necessities and pushed me towards the secret pathway.

"Do you promise you're gonna come with me?" I asked. Even though in the back of my mind I already had an answer.

"..." he didn't say anything. I crawled into the entryway and stood up. I turned around to say my goodbyes but I was met by my father hurriedly closing the entrance. Before I could say anything I heard the front door bust down.

"did you really think you could escape us? GET HIM!" The humans yelled.

"I will serve the kingdom until my death!" My father said calmly. As I sat there leaned against the wall unable to do anything I hear the sounds of swords clashing and yelling. Until it all went silent after the sound of flesh being stabbed. I hoped and hoped that my dad was victorious. But he was only one hybrid and there were so many humans.. tears started to flow out of my eyes again as I hear the humans cheer at the death of a hybrid.

How could they disregard a life like that? Hybrids have never done anything to them why would they do this to us?! I was beyond furious, but with my skill I couldn't do anything, I couldn't save my father so how would I be able to avenge him? Despite my anger, I was scared. I've always been protected and never stood in the front. Now that something like this happened what am I going to do...

Once I was sure the humans had left the building, I tried to get out of the secret passage to see my father one last time even though I know I have no idea how to get back here. But when I tried to find a dent in the wall to open it up, there was nothing... I can't open it?! There's no way back. I close my eyes and take deep breaths tears still flowing out of my eyes.

As per my fathers wishes, I got up and walked through the pathway until I started to see light. With no time to lose I quickly head towards the exit. As my ears were still exposed I opened my bag and took the bottle suppressants pills out and popped one into my mouth.

*pop*

And poof my ears and tail disappear.

With no time to waste, I clutched the bag my father handed me close to my chest and started running. I'm not sure where I'll go, or what I'll do, but I will make it out alive.

Because I was a hybrid, I had better stamina and stealth than regular humans so running for long periods of time was no issue for me. After running for I'm not even sure how long, I went to take a bit of a rest. I found a nice tree to sit under.

"It's been a while since I ran this much.. I'm a bit out of shape huh?" I said to myself with a sigh. I just sat there in silence for a while before I felt a familiar feeling.

*growl*

Hunger.

"I wasn't able to eat breakfast today.. and I never got the chance to have lunch. Should have never skipped meals.. who knew this would happen" I said sadly.
