Sunny couldn't breathe. His body was hurting and he couldn't move. Most of all, he couldn't breathe.

'Think, think, think Sunny, you damned bastard!'

'Was it all for nothing you useless wretch? '

'Just what were you doing with your life until now?'

When did he become so pathetic? He was being drug to the bottom of the sea, and he couldn't even move his arms. He hadn't even made it back to the dark city!

'Damn damn damn damn damnation! Fucking Spell! Fucking Fate! I ! Won't! Let! You! Win!'

He struggled, and struggled and he felt himself blacking out. He probably had seconds left now, but he just couldn't find the way out. . .

Finally realizing that moving his body was useless, he focused his attention on his abilities and Memories. He realized that nothing would help him now.

He just wished that he could use Shadow Step. He could feel their shadows even now, as he was pulled into the water. Without him, Nephis and Cassie would probably die from the Soul Devourer.

'No!'

That thought he jolted him awake. He had to reach them. He had to save them.

'Cassie, Neph.'

Sunny focused all of his senses on his shadow sense. He felt the presence of Cassie and Neph for the last time. He struggled weakly from his disgusting bonds one last time.

'Please, they can't die! Not again! Not again!'

'No. . .'

'If. . . I. . . could. . . just. . . step into. . . the. . . shadow. . .'

And then, Sunny could've sworn he felt a familiar feeling, he just couldn't recognize where he felt it before. It didn't matter. He blacked out.

Cassie POV:

'I wonder what's happening? It's been a while since Sunny and Neph went down right?'

Cassie decided that she would shout.

"Neph! Sunny!"

She got no response.

'No. . .'

There was no way, right? Surely, surely they're alive. . .

Cassie moved across the branch and found the golden rope. She trembled a little.

Nephis is alive at least. I don't know what's down there, but if I can help her. . .'

Shaking like a child, she stumbled around until She found the rope, and then she started to climb down despite her ever increasing fear of what was happening.

"Neph! Sunny!"

She called out, even as she slowly started to climb down.

"Hey, where are you? Please, PLEASE ANSWER!"

She couldn't even keep her voice level. She couldn't see. so being unable to hear her friends just amplified her fear many fold.

Still, when she made it down to the bottom of the rope and collapsed, she did not give up calling for Nephis. She had a bad feeling about something, but she didn't know what.

Finally, after walking further and further from the tree, she heard Nephis. The silver haired girl was barely able to speak in a whisper.

"I'm here, Cassie."
