Anthony Bridgerton was a main in pain. He was 34, and just had his heart completely shattered. Kate Sharma was his long-term girlfriend of two years; he had never been in anything serious before her. He didn't see any issues, but supposedly 'he was blind'. Kate said he worked too much, he didn't pay her enough attention. When she left, her words were devastating, "I simply fell out of love with you." She had always said she wanted to go back home to her mother, and he didn't fight for her, he didn't chase her, he simply let her go. Because deep down he new she deserved better, and he couldn't give it too her.

That was six months ago.

Now he was standing in an airport picking up his little sister and her best friend from the airport. Eloise and Penelope had an opportunity to move to New York, it was always a little dream they both shared, Anthony found it preposterous at first allowing his 18-year-old sister trek across the globe for school when England had perfectly good ones. It wasn't until he listened to Eloise when her face lit up when she spoke about NYU, he knew he had to let her go. He was grateful that Penelope was going with her as at least she'd be able to ground Eloise and keep her out of trouble. Penelope was a talent musician, she was regularly celebrated at her high school, and made the newspapers more than once. She ultimately received a full ride scholarship to Juilliard. The family were stunned when she first announced it, his mother even threw her a party.

He'd always felt a little sorry for Penelope. Her mother was a drunk, her father had passed, and her sisters were simply diabolical people. She had always been so quiet and reserved. Even though she was always polite, he never ever really noticed her. He felt like a bit of an arsehole at times, as he never really spoke to her, but she was ten years his younger... what would they have in common? He did notice however her smiles for a certain Bridgerton brother, Colin.

He was certainly a ladies' man. He was constantly out with differnet models, socialites, and even some reality stars. Colin was totally oblivious to the young girl, and it was probably for the best because he'd no doubt ruin her. She was too precious for that.

Anthony was still in his suit from the office. He had taken off his tie and undid a few buttons for comfort, but he wanted to get home and put his feet up. Benedict was meant to be on pick up duty, however Sophie was called into work and Ben had to watch the kids, so Anthony 'no responsibilities' Bridgerton was roped into the position instead. Sophie and Ben had been married for three years this month and they already had two under two. Sophie was a nurse, and will Ben being an artist he become a house dad, and he bloody loved it. Anthony loved his nieces, but he always felt a little niggle of jealous at how happy his siblings were, and how he lacked in that department.

Daphne and Simon were as happy as ever with their growing brood, Fran and John were also happy and in love with three kids in Scotland. God, even Gregory has a steady girlfriend, and he was 18. Hyacinth was 16, and becoming quite the handful with boy's, he'd avoid every conversation he could regarding that department as he saw Hyacinth much as his own daughter.

Their father Edmund passed when Hyacinth was still in his mother's belly. He was 19 and thrust into a family business he had no idea how to handle. He was grateful for the guidance from Agatha Danbury, his mother's best friend and successful businesswoman in her own right. He managed to grow his father's company exponentially and turned it into a nearly a billion-pound company. He was name CEO of the year for five years straight in his early twenties, he was extremely blessed. But he knew his hard work would pay off eventually, it wasn't until he looked in the mirror this year and saw small wrinkles near his eyes... when he thought he needed to sort himself out. He had no life outside the office, and well his family and as much as he loved them, he needed to sort his personal life out.
