Chase's POV:

It was 6:45 pm, and we were packing up to leave. It's pitch black outside, and not many people were at the beach. I stood near the med bay, just finishing putting away the new order of methoxy fluorene whistles whilst waiting for everyone to finish packing. I closed the shutters previously.

This is my second week here as a full-time lifeguard. I skipped the traineeship somehow, but I'm still not permitted to give the green whistle or anything like that, yet.

I love this job. I've always wanted to be a lifeguard, and I hope to work here for the rest of my life. I've gotten to know most of the boys pretty well, and I feel I fit in nicely.

"Oh, sh*t look over here." I hear Chappo say from the front door.

I walk over, grabbing a pair of binoculars. "What?" I say, looking where Chappo is.

"There's been an accident over here." A few of the boys gather around.

"It's a car." Bacon says.

"Is it flipped?" I ask.

"Yeah, it looks like it. I wonder what happened. Do we go and check it out?" Whippet says.

"Oh f*ck." I say. All of the boys turn and look at me.

"Sh*t! That's Elizabeth's car!" I say, putting the binoculars down.

"Are you sure?" Bacon asks.

"100% mate. She's the only one with the license plate 'srf4lfe'. I say, running out the back door, not even bothering with shoes.

I hear the boys russle around. I turn around and see them running after me.

I get to the car, and my heart drops. It's Elizabeth and Oliver. I didn't know what to do. The car was completely flipped over, and glass was everywhere. It smelled like gas.

"We need to get them both, awake and out before a fire starts." Maxi says, since he's an experienced firefighter.

I was terrified. I prayed neither of them were dead. I can't lose Elizabeth. I took a deep breath to calm down.

Elizabeth's POV:

I woke up in pain. Everything hurt. I was lying on my back. What had happened? Was the car flipped? I looked over to Oliver. He was still passed out. I didn't care.

I lfted my head and tried to lean on my forearms to see what was happening. I was all very overwhelming.

I heard talking. I recognized the voice. It was Chase. I didn't have any energy to yell for help. I looked around and saw the sea. We must've been at Bondi, or at least around it.

"Elizabeth!" Chase says, leaning down to look through the window.

"What happened?" I say, trying to sit up.

"Woah woah, it's okay. Just relax." Chase says, calming me down.

I lay my head down on the broken glass. I was so tired, and my head throbbed. I touched my face, and blood was on my nose. I coughed, which blood also came out of.

"Stay with us, Lizzy." I hear Maxi say.

"Elizabeth, I need you to tell me Mouse's phone number." He says.

I tried to talk, but nothing came out. I was too exhausted. I wanted to go to sleep, but I knew I had to fight.

The car started smelling really badly. I looked over to Oliver, who was already gone. He was in an easier area to get since the car was half flipped and half on its side.

The car was leaning on two tires, which was making it lean.

"First responders can't be here for 30 minutes." I hear someone say. I couldn't make out who.

"F*ck the system. Bacon, Whippet, I need you guys over here and pull these tires out with me." Maxi says.

I heard running, and I saw more people come over. Must have been bystanders there to help.

"Elizabeth, can you hear me?" Chase says softly through the window.

I nod. "Look, we're gonna straighten out the car so we can get you out. I need you to hold on." I look over at him, my eyes heavy. I nod again.

I take a deep breath, and the car starts shaking. Powerful kicks there, guys. The car slams onto its side.

"Ahhhhh!" I scream out in pain.

"I know! I know! I'm sorry. Try to relax." Chase says.

I swallow in pain. I try to take deep breaths. Everything hurt so badly that I couldn't tell what exactly hurt.

I see Chase grab my arms and pull me out of the broken window. I was sliding across glass, but all that mattered was me not being dead. I'd much rather be hurt than dead.

"OWWW," I groan in pain.

Chase pulls me into his chest once I'm out of the car. He's on his knees, and I'm on my back. I breathe heavy, tears stream down my face.

"I got you. I got you. I got you." Chase says, holding my face to his chest.

"I hate him! I hate him!" I sob.

"I know. It's okay." He reassures. He lays me flat on my back.

I see Chappo and Maxi rush over. I see Bacon and Whippet near Oliver.

"Elizabeth. Tell me exactly what hurts." Maxi gives simple directions.

"M-my leg, m-my c-chest and my arms." I tell him as he looks at my leg.

"Does your neck or back hurt?" He asks.

"No. My arms are stinging." I cry.

"There's glass in your arm. We need to move you out of the glass before we remove it." He says. I cringe at the pain.

They all put their arms underneath me and slowly moved me to clean concrete.

I felt dirty and uncomfortable. I didn't know what was happening or what was going on. All I knew was that I was in pain, but I was gonna be okay because I had people there I trusted with open arms to help.

I felt Chase sit behind me and prop my head on his legs like a pillow.

"We're gonna remove the glass from your arms and legs. You may feel pinches, but that's it. Elizabeth, can you tell me what happened?" Maxi asks.

"Drivers license lost, we were at the bar, fighting, I don't know." I cry out. I'm practically hyperventilating at this point.

After getting all the glass off my body, they put me on a spinal board for precaution and a space blanket, so I didn't go into shock.

Although in pain, I was more comfortable. I was still terrified and confused, but at least I wasn't in a stupid position while lying in glass. I heard sirens in the distance, which was a sigh of relief.

"Lizzy, where's Mouse, sweetheart?" Maxi asks.

"He's out on a fishing cruise trip with a few friends. He doesn't have cell cervice as he's literally in the middle of the ocean." I say, my voice scratchy.

"Damn it." They say to each other.

The ambulance and first responders showed up, and Maxi went to go talk to them.

"Chase." I say. He looks down at me.

"Can you come into the ambulance with me? Please?" I ask, putting out a hand.

"Yes, of course I will." He says. I smile.
