Hi, my name is Lucille "Lucy" Van Pelt, and I guess you have probably heard of me before. Not surprising really. Anyways, this is my story, it's filled with love, betrayal, hardships, but it's what shaped me.

Would I have wanted out from the beginning if I knew what I was going to go through? Probably, but then I wouldn't be who I am. This is my story, enjoy!...

Lucy couldn't help but sigh,"Oh Schroeder." Wistfullness deeply etched into her voice. She watched him play his signature red piano from behind a curtain, in the music department, deep within her school. The same place where Charlie Brown's sister, Sally, won the talent show a couple of years back. "If only I played an instrument, then maybe Schroeder would find me talented and take notice of me." It always bothered Lucy that she could get any boy she wanted, but Schroeder always seemed to be immune to her girlish charms.

A few moments later she saw Frieda or as she liked to call her, "naturally curly hair girl", walk up to Schroeder and started to flirt unendlessly."My my Schroeder, how did you get to be so good on the piano." In her most coquettetish voice she added, "I bet not even Beethoven himself could have done as well." Naturally curly hair girl then carelessly sat on Schroeder's red piano. Staring deep into his face, as if she could make him fall in love with her. It took all of Lucy strength to keep from screaming when she brushed one of his golden locks behind his ears, when it fell out of place.

For once Lucy was glad that Schroeder had reacted in his typical, "not really caring at all what you say or do " way.

"You know something Lucy." She said to herself with a newfound confidence. "You could outdo that annoying flirt anyday. So you should just go up there and outshine her in a way that only you can." Gulp, easier said then done.

While Lucy did have a reputation for fighting for Schroeder's affections against that stupid piano of his, still, it was so much easier to just go up to his piano and speak her mind when she was younger. At this point in her life she did not want Schroeder to find her that pushy, I mean they were both already sixteen. And with the winter dance coming up, she really didn't want him to find her annoying. Of course that didn't mean her fiery spirit was diminishing, she just wanted to be more strategic when it came to winning Schroeder's affections.

"Whew! Okay Lucy, time to go show Schroeder who really thinks he is better than Beethoven...Right after a quick trip to the restroom in an attempt to make myself presentable." Lucy then ran from her hiding spot behind the curtains and went straight to her locker. "Time to put Miss Curly Hair Weirdo to shame." Lucy said as she headed towards the restroom with supplies in hand.

Lucy slightly curled her hair to give herself that wavy hair look. She then carefully pinched her cheeks in a successful attempt to make them all pink and rosy. She added some light pink color chapstick to her lips to give it a natural, yet glossy look. She finally finished with the finishing touch, her secret weapon, in other words her favorite blue ribbon that went perfectly with her short blue dress. (Is that what it's called?) She attached it to the back of her medium length blue black, now wavy hair.

"There." She said to herself while looking into the bathroom mirror. Now I look perfect, even Beethoven himself would want to propose to me now. Or at least want ask me to the winter dance. Lucy thought with a smile.

A few moments later, Lucy resumed her hiding place, only to find what she saw shocked her.

"That is it! Step aside Naturally Curly Hair Weirdo,

SCHROEDER IS MINE!!!"

............................................

Schroeder had just decided to start playing one of his favorite songs on his piano, Edelweiss. When he finally realized that that Frieda was trying to strangle him, or as she put it hug him, he froze...

Well, at least I know my concentration on music is getting better. I just seriously wish that every time it was broken, that there wouldn't be some girl trying to strangl- er I mean hug me. At least Lucy knew boundaries, I guess.

"Where is Lucy anyways? I would of expected something like this from her, not Frieda." Schroeder didn't even realize that he had said these words out loud...In front of Frieda.

"Um excuse me!" Frieda scoffed. "Uh, hello! I'm right here! Forget about Lucy for once!"

"Well, at least Lucy never irked me the way you do! Besides, I bet Beethoven would never be caught dead or alive with a girl as vain as you!"

Instantly, Schroeder began to feel bad, especially when Frieda began to cry.

.................................................

As much as Frieda hated to admit it, Schroeder's remark stung.

Ooh! Now he's done it! Schroeder you will be taking me to dance. I will never hear the end of it if you don't! As much as I really didn't want it to come to this, I'm afraid it has. Time to cry.

Which was exactly what she did.

............................................

Schroeder was still feeling bad about making Frieda cry. "Please don't cry, I didn't totally mean it, it's just that you wouldn't stop annoying me and-"

To his surprise she stopped crying and put her index finger to his lips and said shhh.

Psycho

"It's alright Schroeder, I forgive you. But if you really want to make it up to me, you could always take me to the Winter Dance that's in a couple of weeks. You do want to take me don't you Schroeder? Of course you do."

Schroeder was speechless as he felt a growing apprehension in his belly.

"It's alright Schroeder, I know this must be a lot to take in. Especially, since it's coming from me, one of the most popular girls in school."

Ha you wish! Schroeder secretly thought.

"Now then, don't you think the guy taking his girl to the dance, should give her just a little kiss? You know, just to make things more official?

Schroeder's only reaction was him trying to her hands off of his shoulders.

"It's alright Schroeder. I know you are very shy, so why don't I start?"

Frieda then closed her eyes and began to lean her face more and more towards Schroeder, who by then had successfully removed her hands from his shoulders, and was doing his best to steer clear from Frieda. Her intent very clear, to kiss Schroeder and claim him as her's. She probably would of succeeded in giving him a kiss if Lucy hadn't walked right in that moment. For once Schroeder was grateful, but boy, did she look madder than a bull.
