Act 2: 9- Lucia's POV

When my mother went into labor, in Belle, magic beings were being hunted by the magic keepers. And when I was being born, it was in the presence of the magic keepers. They knew my mother had come from Harmony and that she was married to a magic being.

But, even from my first moments in the world, I was considered... a monster, I guess you could say. The first thing the magic keepers did, checked what my ability was.

Turns out I am a shapeshifter.

... Can you imagine what it was like? The first thing I did was not even cry... I was forced to transform into my mother.

Conscience thought was not something I wanted to experience in my first moments. It was so cold, so dark... My mother was there, crying and trying to reach me until one of the magic keepers turned to her and killed her. That's when I realized I shouldn't be there, and tried to run. But the keepers are experts and knew I wouldn't be able to go anywhere fast.

But I still ran. And made it to Harmony. That's when the magic keepers struck, they nearly took my life with them. But King Gabriele found me and took me into Harmony before they could do anything.

Gabriele was an amazing being, powerful and kind. He wasn't born into a magic family, he wasn't even born royal. He met the princess, Alma, when he performed for the king, showing his ability to show illusions.

But he told me I was welcome as a member of their castle, and gave me my first family.

It was weird, seeing Darling at such a young age, as well. You should've seen how small she was, and how little she smiled.

And... even worse, I think I was the one that made King Gabriele go missing. I was walking around one day when I heard King Gabiele arguing with someone...

"I will never let you hurt my people, we are people of magic, and NO ONE can change that. Not you, not your threats, NO ONE."

"You cannot stop change, Gabriele. You had a purpose, HAVE one, and it has not changed."

"Yes, but I have changed. I can't just betray everyone after all that's happened. I have a family now."

"Your family is why we're here. They are royal magic beings, their magic could destroy everything. Do you know how powerful YOU are now that you're part of the Harmony family?"

"Yes, I do. I felt it." He sighed. It wasn't one of like, frustration like I would've expected, but one of sadness. "I know I told you to trust me, that I would never fray from the path I was told to follow, but I really can't now."

Silence... It went on for what felt like forever. "Is that all you're going to say? That you'd rather follow someone who carries magic detecting powder with them rather than your own family?!" I remember being incredibly shocked when I heard that, I fell back gasping.

They found me in the hall, and the king panicked. I didn't do anything, I didn't deserve what happened next.

The Magic Keepers cut off the tips of my ears, and curved them into something "normal".

They told me much worse things would happen if anyone found out what they spoke about that day. And I was no longer welcome in Harmony, so I left.

I managed to get lost and ended up with little remembrance of what happened. Queen Rachel took me in, years later when I found her.

Then I heard King Gabriele went missing. I don't know why or how, but no trace of him was left, and neither was Princess Darling. Then I got a little worried I might've doomed them. I think you know what happened after that...

And... know this: I am not looking for a record of my mother. I found that a long time ago, and information about my father as well.

I am looking for information about the Magic Keepers. I needed to know who they were because I was owed revenge. But the council is hard to get to, let alone kill.

Darling can help me, however, she was the one they were worried about.
