>> KDJ's POV <<

In the centre of the relentlessly glowing city lights, I met eyes with Junghyeok.

"You're staring at me," he replied.

I couldn't suppress a smile. "I can't help it."

Underneath the rising moon, everything that happened between us seemed to rain onto our faces. The denial and fear, the guilt, and finally, the love. Indeed, it was love.

I wouldn't have called it 'love' before. It seemed to early to think so.

Yes, but time isn't what determines the connection between two people, now, does it? It's instead what those two have experienced together. And, Junghyeok and I had witnessed it all. We withstood life and his cruel trials, and our fingers still interlocked, we made it to the end of this story.

They city lights were beautiful. I fondly watched the man beside me.

"You're staring again," he warned, watching me from the corner of his eye.

However, in a sudden moment, I felt a hand grab me from behind.

Ah, I should've realised who it was by those icy fingers pierce into my neck...

"Are you two having a moment right now? Wow, it sure sounds romantic. Under the moonlight...two lovers up on a hill...oh, lord, it's so bad."

That mocking voice belonged to only one; Han Sooyoung.

I sat up straight to see her holding Junghyeok in a headlock. "Sooyoung. How did you find us?"

"Eh, I was just circling the lake until I noticed two familiar men on the hill beside me. I hope I ruined your little date."

She held the two of us close, and I sank into her shoulder. Junghyeok groaned out in displeasure but hadn't truly opposed this physical contact.

The city lights continued to endlessly glisten above us. I watched intently, knowing the man and woman along with me on this hill would forever remain within the walls of my aching heart.

Fate was such a cruel thing. How only the will of God could ruthlessly bind people together using only the sole thread of his desire, and string the most unfortunate of bystanders together as one.

And among all those threads, the 'thread' that had sewn us together was unmistakably the most beautiful of them all.
