Important Terms
SSC: A BDSM consent practice meaning Safe, Sane, and Consensual. Although an outdated term, it still carries importance and focuses on the questions:
- is the activity safe?
- is it sane?
- does everyone have consent to the activity?

RACK: A BDSM consent practice meaning Risk Aware Consensual Kink and this includes activities not covered by SSC. Risk Aware means that all participants know the risk of the activity they're about to partake in, can name the risks and describe how the risks will be handled.

PRICK: A BDSM consent practice meaning Personal Responsibility Informed Consensual Kink. Personal stresses the freedom of the individual to label, identify and choose their kink as well as the context. Responsible is connected to the individual's freedom but expands to the self love and self care involved in personal responsibility. It doesn't negate the mutuality of the caring environment that should exist in a scene or D/s. Informed means that all participants are aware of what is going to happen during play, what risks are involved, and the due diligence of research, negotiating, and vetting.

Aftercare: A form of care that is shared between all participants after play. This care may be self-serviced, facilitated by the participants of the play, and sometimes by people that didn't participate in the play but have a connection to the person in need of aftercare.

Safe Words: A word or set of words agreed upon between people to be used to indicate that they would like to change or stop what's happening in a scene or kink activity they're engaged in together. This can be a specific word in a dynamic or a set of words such as green (continue), yellow (slow down) and red (stop).

Subspace: A mental or trance-like state experienced by submissive or bottom roles caused by play. This state is often described as "floaty", "mushy" or "light" and is a happy or euphoric rush. It can also greatly differ person to person.

Subdrop: This is a drop in mental state after a scene or play. Feelings of depression, being overly emotional or generally feeling sad or low are common in subdrop.

**Due to the nature of this story, these terms are important and will be brought up at different points.**
