As Light Beckons

Light filters down from the sky

It feeds flora

The flora feeds fauna

The fauna feeds itself

And yet I am here

Stuck in sorrow

Rain filters down from my eyes

It soaks cloth

The cloth covers shame

The shame feeds itself

And yet I am here

Stuck in fear

Shadows filter love from my sight

They shade joy

That joy which would mask pain

The pain feeds itself

And yet I am here

Stuck in madness

Lies filter peace from my soul

They corrupt reason

That reason fumbles meaning

The meaning feeds itself

And yet I am here

Stuck in waiting

Waiting for light to beckon

Waiting for rain to cease

Waiting for shadows to run

Waiting for lies to decrease

Waiting for sorrow to flee

Waiting for fear to flee

Waiting for madness to flee

Waiting for light to beckon

Me to Paradise
