It was now Thursday and Peyton was nervous. She had been waiting for this day all week and now that it was here, she was nervous as shit.
When she woke up at 8:30 to get ready for the date at 10:00, it all dawned on her.She was going on a date for the first time since her ex.
Her and her ex ended on a bad note. Peyton had walked in on him with another girl and ended it on spot. He tried for months to get her back, but failed. She's been so scared of letting someone in — especially a man — since.
But here she was, getting ready for a date with Quinn Hughes.
She had a quick shower, then brushed her hair and teeth. She put on a white cropped tank top with little flowers over it and low rise jeans. She sat at her vanity and put on some light make up.
She grabbed a green cropped zip up sweater and zipped it over her. She exited her room and went to the door of her apartment, slipping on some grey Converse before exiting.
Quinn's nerves were starting to rise every second he sat in the coffee shop waiting for Peyton. He had a million things flowing through his head. What if she doesn't like me? What if she thinks I'm weird. What if she—
His thoughts were cut off by the ringing of the bell at the door of the coffee shop. He lifted his head to see Peyton walking in. He sat up straight in the seat he was sitting in. He sat there and took her in.
A smiled formed on the girls face when her eyes landed on his. Quinn smiled and got up from his seat. She pulled him into a hug when she reached him, arms going around his neck as his went around her waist.
"It's great to finally meet you," Peyton smiled, pulling away from Quinn.
"Yeah, it's great to meet you, too," Quinn smiled back. "Do you know what you want?" He pulled out a chair for her, before going back to his seat.
"Yeah," Peyton nodded. She looked over her shoulder and seen a man taking orders from a small group of friends at a booth. "Shit." She slouched down in her seat and looked straight forward.
"What?" Quinn looked at the girl.
"I completely forgot my ex worked here," she mumbled glancing back over and sitting up right once she noticed he was gone.
"Do you think you still have feelings for him?" Quinn asked.
"No," Peyton quickly shook her head. "No, I'm over him, I've been over him. It's just— our relationship ended on a bad note." She took a breath. "The relationship wasn't the best either. I mean, we had our fights like every couple, but there were times when he got really angry and—"
"He hit you?"
"No," Peyton was quick to deny. "He just threw things, heavy things."
"We can leave and go some place else if you want," Quinn offered.
"No, he needs to know that I'm not scared of him,"
Add strength to the list of things Quinn likes about Peyton.
"You sure?"
"Yeah," Peyton nodded. "I'll be fine, Quinn."
"Are you two ready to order?" A familiar voice asked from beside them. "Peyton."
"Damien,"
Damien looked over at Quinn and lightly scoffed.
"You got a problem, Damien?" Peyton looked up at her ex.
