A Game Of Snakes & Ladders - An American Deku Story

hey...it's been a while

(bear with me bc u won't regret reading this entire thing esp near the end bc it gets more interesting later)

Alr so I obviously lied in my last update lmfao UHHH so I started writing ch 2 sometime then but it was actually so difficult to get it going bc honestly I started this story for the later part once he leaves the country and also American deku fics were so popular when I started writing this

Well I kinda just never ended up finishing that chapter even though I had been thinking abt writing this story for so long

I had all the plot decided, I even made a playlist and all, I was so excited to write this lmfao it was all I could think of

But then I started writing and I've just never  managed to finish writing a book...

Anyways I've sorta moved to AO3 and haven't really stayed in this fandom much but I thought I'd come on here and apologize a bit bc I noticed a lot of ppl seemed to actually like this story enough to book mark it and I've just not delivered lmao

So to make up for it...I've decided to basically lay out the plot line I had originally decided to write but never got to

Idk if it's just me, but the reason I hate unfinished stories so much esp ones that haven't updated in years is bc I rllyyy wanna know what's gonna happen next so maybe this will satiate you guys a bit?

Anyways so the story started off with Todo breaking up with deku and it's a full sad thing and then next chap was in uraraka's pov where she goes to comfort her best friend and finds out all Abt what happened. She's super pissed (I love uraraka I hate how much hate she receives) and all and basically keeps deku safe and healthy as he basically spirals into a sorta depressive episode. He doesn't leave his room for 2 weeks and only eats because of ura, and then is forced to return to class bc his place in UA is threatened by his numerous absences (yk how some courses have a max absence quota, like that) anyways so he returns to class and finds out that Todo is with yaoyarozu (I forgot how to spell her name) and he's super sad and pissed. Move to todo's pov and I wasn't sure what to do here exactly but it was either gonna be 1: todo is forced to break up with deku and go with yaoyarozu bc of his dad, super sad stuff and sorta redeems Todo or 2: (my preferred option and the one I was probably gonna go with) Todo fell out of love with Izuku (which is completely fine and it's good he didn't drag it out and stuff which was a sorta lesson I wanted to teach ig) so he breaks up with Izuku so he can save them both the hurt but feels super guilty when he sees how bad izuku's state is after the break up but is again either forced with momo or chooses to be with momo bc he likes her and it had been 2 weeks since their break up

So that's the first part and then Izuku would be sorta done with seeing them together, still gets along with the class but most of them don't like Todo so much anymore bc of the fact that he broke up with Izuku and got with momo super soon (no slut shaming tho bc I see that so often and it's acc rlly crazy that were doing that, no slut shaming momo and no slut shaming Todo bc that's super out of pocket). At some point I was supposed to introduce that Izuku liked singing and dancing since he was a child as an outlet for the bullying he received, basically a coping mechanism. Anyways so to cope with this he writes songs (good for u and déjà vu or Smth ik it was that long ago that I thought up this story also these songs r the reason why it's exactly 2 weeks that Todo takes to get with momo) Anyways snth happens I think his mom finds a job in America/Canada where his dad is and he moves there and basically as he's settling in he discovers his old box filled with all his songs and he's nostalgic (he has songs abt a unrequited love with bakugou here) and eventually decides to record and upload it to YouTube. Can u guess what happens next lmfao? Yeah he blows up ish over night and then slowly builds popularity with all his songs. I wasn't sure if I was gonna make his identity anonymous but I think that was one of my running ideas and him going under the name "Duke". Anyways so when he's there he gets into the best hero school in the world and he's basically super excited, shows up to school, gets a tour and such and bumps into this dude and gets added to his friend group yada yada yada they r besties exactly like it would happen in most of these fics. At some point they would find out that he's good at singing and dancing and ask him to be in their band.
