"David, I-" He stuttered nervously before taking a deep breath and continuing with what he was going to say: "I have started to notice that you've been acting differently around food lately." Exer began gently, "Do you want to talk to me about it?" He asked in an uncoerced tone.

David's eyes flickered with a mixture of surprise and relief at Exer's observation. With a sigh, David finally found the courage to speak the words that had been tormenting his mind for a while now: "I...I've been really struggling with food, Exer. It's like an endless battle within me."

Exer's heart went out to his boyfriend, realising the magnitude of the burden David had been carrying alone. "Thank you for sharing this with me, Day; you're not alone in this, I promise you," Exer reassured him, nodding his head to instill a sense of understanding as these words came out of his mouth.

Exer then gently clasped David's hand, offering a silent reassurance in the midst of his distress. The touch conveyed warmth, support, and a deep sense of understanding between them.

A moment of vulnerability passed between them before David whispered, "Do you think... Do you think I might have an eating disorder?"

Exer's empathy overflowed as he, yet again, nodded understandingly, "It's possible, David. But remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness."

David nodded slowly, a mix of fear and determination in his eyes. "I want to get help, Exer. I can't do this alone anymore," he confessed, his voice barely above a whisper—tears welled in his eyes as these words flooded out of his mouth.

Exer's heart swelled with pride for his boyfriend's courage. "I'll be with you every step of the way, David. But I want to make sure you have the support you need. Would it be okay if I talk to my dad about this and see if he could help us find a therapist for you?" Exer asked gently.

David looked at Exer with a glimmer of hope and said, "Yeah—I trust you and Mr. Harry to help me through this."

With a promise to support David unwaveringly, Exer reached out to his dad, Harry. That same evening, Exer poured his heart out about David's struggles with food and the courage he had shown by wanting to seek help.

Harry, a wise and compassionate man, listened intently to Exer's words. His fatherly instincts kicking in, Harry knew that he had to do everything in his power to support David in his journey to healing.
