Her name was Maebh, in her small town, moon wood mill, she had always been alone, it was by choice though, she was often found with her nose stuck in a book that showed ancient relics and how they had been lost to time, almost like humans would be one day, forever lost and given up on by the planet they colonised.
Moon wood mill was very odd indeed, at night you would hear screams especially on the full moon, and everyone grew garlic and avoided wolfsbane. You would think that maybe people had allergies, but most did not. Maebh knew something was odd but kept to studying relics, as to not disturb her towns peace and God forbid be sent to forgotten hollow to have vampires (who she did not believe in) feast on her.
You may assume these fears were... irrational, but those who were sent to forgotten hollow never did return, Maebh had a right to be cautious so she just kept to staying in, nose in ancient books, not poking around for a creature that she may find and provoke, especially with Greg living in the town. Nobody knew much about Greggorius Lunkuvic all the signs just foretold to stay away from him and his home.
Her job is to stay at home when back from school and NOT prod around the town's business, she can do that right... right?
At school Maebh was well behaved but snappy, she had 2 neurodevelopmental disorders, Tourette's, and autism. Her Tourette's was mild but did cause her to say 'wow' at the wrong times and her autism made anger and all emotions a bit harder to handle, in fact disregard that, it made anger impossible to handle this led to her punching and hitting people when they angered her.
She was often placed in isolation and spent her time there reading ancient looking books about her hometown, she had read multiple rumours that her town was far from normal and that it led to 4 moon casters turning into fluffy fanged beasts who dig, bite, and die to silver bullets. The beasts were said to gain power from the lunar cycle.
"Isolation is over, go enjoy your last lesson, Miss. Jenkins..." Her teacher, Mrs. Gruntle growled, looking down at Maebh in disgust, Mrs. Gruntle was a portly African woman with black, long textured hair and deep hazel eyes, she always had a sort of condescending glint in her eyes whenever she would look upon her students, but not Maebh, no, no never Maebh, the look she bear upon Maebh was that of which a pastor would look upon the devil with, a look of disbelief and pure anger of the 16 year olds existence. Maebh simply got up, flung her bag onto her bag, placed her coat loosely over her left arm and left with a quick gait, as if she were in a race to who could leave the room fastest, she shot out the door? No, no, she jumped out the window heading for the school gate.
However, the school guards were used to this and so grabbed her and returned her to the isolation room. "Are you ever going to quit this insolent behaviour? You are lucky I have not excluded you yet." the teacher growled Maebh simply ticked and rolled her eyes "then expel, me, I do nothing all da- wow! Ugh!! All day!" Maebh growled sharply her light green eyes glaring at the tall broody woman.
"You are lucky that corporal punishment is no longer in place here" Miss Gruntle snapped back, peering at Maebh through dark, narrowed eyes. "Is that a threat?" The young girl questioned, startled, the older teacher simply rolled her eyes and returned to her desk "You are excused!" Miss Gruntle barked, shooing Maebh with a wave of the hand.
Maebh got up and threw on her black long trench coat and green and brown checkered backpack, as she exited the class, she raised her middle finger at a picture of Jesus, as in her words 'Christ ruined her life.' And so, she refused to even look at the portraits that showed the view of Catholicism within her school, and when out of school, she would ignore that the Christian religion existed.
Maebh left the isolation classroom and walked to her next class, English, her favourite, and today was Friday which meant she was to have a double period, 2 hours of English. She entered the classroom early and smiled at her teacher, Mr. Smith. "Maebh! I thought you were in isolation?" He said, raising up from his closed off desk in the corner of the room.
