today is two days before my best friend autumn goes back to houston and im literally devastated abt this bro. even though im literally going to be with every other day when summers over , my mom stays in houston and my dad stays in atlanta. i have family from nyc , texas , and atlanta because my family is full of immigrants on both sides. my dads side is jamaican and black while my moms side is dominican and filipino so you can only imagine how that's going.

due to autumn's parents going through relationship issues her home hasn't really been a stable place. it was pretty easier for her to block it out during the school year since there were a lot of things to help distract her from her family problems , but know that it's summer time and everyone's doing a lot she hasn't really had enough time to avoid home without being questioned about why she's doing so.

but as much as she tried to avoid all the questions outside of home and everything going on at home it caused her to finally breakdown which easily got her parents attention causing them to send them to her and her younger sister to their grandparents
which was basically in this small random city outside of 57 minutes outside of houston.

it was nice and relaxing but after a while it started to drive her what she believed to be insane since they didn't get much internet or access to the outside world.soon after she informed best friend which caused to bev her dad to let stay for while and here they are now.

since these were going to be there last couple of days together in person for awhile they both wanted to make the best out of it. little day they know their idea of making the best of it was different on both ends. dakota planned on just staying in and being up under each other all day since for the past 2 weeks they had done activities every other day. although autumn did enjoy being up under her best friend she wanted to go out and see as much of atlanta with dakota as she could.

the girls had been up for a while since a hour ago there dad bought them chick-fil-a " kokopuff " autumn yelled while entering the room , " what tete ? " dakota said while closing out of tiktok after scrolling for almost a hour. " ik you lying " the maroon haired girl said , " what's wrong ? " dakota said while stretching. " you still being in bed is the problem pookie , this is one of my last days here and you just sitting around like you don't care " autumn says dramatically. " i thought we were chilling today , we did something yesterday " dakota says while getting out of bed to stretch. " we literally went to target " autumn said mugging while gathering things to get ready for the day.

dakota followed her to her bathroom , dakota just didn't understand how her social battery was almost always at about 80 or higher. she always wished she could try and find the good in thing like autumn did or at least tried to. " haven't we almost did everything we there is to do down here ? " dakota asked genuinely , " no dakota we haven't even done half of the things i planned on doing " autumn said while trying to laugh it off. i could tell that autumn was being serious which made her made start to think of all the things we done while together.

we hadn't done to much or at least things dakota hadn't already done while down here , which wasn't right. autumn had been going through so much and was finally catching a real break. so it was now my final chance to get my act together. " what did you plan on doing today then " i asked , " we don't have to go if you don't- " i instantly cut her off , " what is it tete ". autumn smiled " well nelson's basketball team is down here and they're having a game today , ik we don't know much about basketball ball but i mean that doesn't have to stop us from going to support him. plus it would be fun to make fun of the players , there crazy fans , and make a effort to understand the game yk ? " she said while looking at me through the mirror.

i looked back at her and smiled , this is literally why we're soulmates. " okay what time does start " i asked to know when to start getting ready . " umm in about 50 minut - " she started before i cut her off " GIRL WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU YK I TAKE FOREVER TO GET READY " i said looking at her crazy . " it's a basketball game girl yk it doesn't when at the actual time tbh ey say if does " autumn says while putting on her new moisturizer she bought while out yesterday.

" you right im tripping but ima start getting ready before we're actually late " i said while going through my drawer looking for a hair the to push back my but length boho knotless. while getting ready i started to hear "butterflies pt.1 , by queen naija" which let me know that today was gon be a good day.
