Alexander pov:

Emotionless
that what was plaster on my face but I was feeling lot of emotions proud that I achieved my victory, happy that I fulfilled my mother wish and sad because my mother is not beside me to see her wish coming true.

"Congratulations Alexander"
I roll my eyes internally, I look towards my stepmom Victoria who have fake smile plastered on her face bcz I'm the king now and she have to respect me.
"It's 'highness' for you" I remarked sarcastically. Her smile dropped, I can see the furiousness in her eyes as she tried her best to hide her anger.
"Yes your highness" Victoria said.

"Congratulations your highness" I look towards my assistant, also a friend who was there for me when everyone abandoned me after my mother death. I shook away the memory and focus on my friend, who is smiling at me
"Thanks Rhysand" we hug each other.

He was going to say something when my father aka David came towards us.
"Congratulations son" he said.
"Thanks dad" I said coldly, knowing that he notice the coldness in my voice as guilt rush over his eyes but I care less knowing what he did with my mother. Shiver ran through my spine when I remember the memory of my past when he ordered to kill my mother on false accusation for the sake of this fucking kingdom and reputation.
"Look son I know I did wrong but.." he was cut off by my stepbrother Christopher
"Mom is calling you dad" Chris said .
"I am coming" he said and look at me with sorry look, I look away from him and as always he went away without explaining.
"Mom was so happy when your father announce you as the next king of dark wood kingdom" Rhysand said, I look at him.
"Was she" I said, he nodded and smile.
"But she is upset cuz you didn't came from a long time" he said.
"I will visit her once I am free" I said.
"i also told her you will come once you are free but whenever I come home she always say where is Alex, did Alex came and I think she love you more than me" Alex was listening to all Rhysand complains, Alex look at him and scoff.
"are you jealous of me" i said,
"not really" he said, I roll my eyes and start sipping my wine.

Time skip:

I complete work as exhausted sigh left my mouth. It's been two days since I became the king and here now I am looking around in papers to have a better kingdom in future and as good king which I am not I don't have any option but to do it.

There was a knock on door
"come in" I said.
"Your majesty dinner is ready" I look at the maid and said
"You can go" she bow and left from there. I also make my way towards dining room.

I took a seat and soon made start serving us.
"son there is an event in village and as a King you should go there it will be a great experience" i can say by the look that he was waiting for a positive answer.
"sure sad" he smile at me,
"but dad there will lot of enemies who would like to harm Alex" Chris said.
"I know how to protect myself" I said and start eating.
"This is not how you talk to your little brother" Victoria said, I was going to say something but my father interrupt me.
"don't worry Victoria guards and Rhysand will go with him" I complete my dinner and walk towards my room.

After changing my clothes I sat on bed as my eyes travel towards my nightstand beside my bed, I saw the picture of my mom
"I miss you mom and I know you were innocent" I said and laid on my bed, I was staring at the ceiling blankly as darkness consume over me.

Hazel pov:

I

get off from my horse and said to my friend GEORGE.
"Pass me the water bottle" he pass me the water bottle and I was tired so I drank in one go. We just came from a mission give by king of Romain and fortunately I succeed or I don't know what gonna happen if I didn't.
