My Childhood Best Friend

Chapter 1

Lisa and Jennie have known each other since they were little. Over the years they spent together, Lisa slowly developed feelings for Jennie. One day as they were in high school, Jennie left without saying goodbye and didn't respond to any texts or call from Lisa. Lisa was very sad through all high school, when she went to college, she met Rosé, and they got really close and became Best Friends.

Lisa is now entering the third year of college. As soon as she arrived, her whole friend group greeted her, Rosé, Seulgi, Irene, Mina, Chaeyoung, Nayeon & Jeongyeon. Irene and Seulgi are a couple as well as, Mina and Chaeyoung and Nayeon and Jeongyeon, Rosé and Lisa are the only once that are single in their friend group.

They headed to class and in the hallway, Lisa bumped into a girl. The girl was Jennie, but Lisa didn't recognize her and left with her friends after helping her to get up. They all went to class and sat down. While the couples were busy flirting with each other, Rosé and Lisa told each other what they did in the summer. They were so busy catching up, that they didn't notice the teacher was already here and introduced a new student. During class Rosé and Lisa were laughing and Jennie kept on glancing at them, seeing them laughing together made her sad. After the day ended, Lisa went to the library like always and her friends drove home. Jennie noticed her and decided to follow Lisa into the library. Lisa sat down at a table and started doing her homework, Jennie sat opposite of her. Lisa didn't notice her until Jennie said something.

Jennie: What homework are you doing?

Lisa got startled by the sudden interaction. She looked at the girl across from her and answered.

Lisa: Uh English. *looked at Jennie* -mind: She kind of looks familiar, I don't know why though.-

Jennie: Ah ok. -mind: Does she seriously not recognize me?- So you really don't recognize me?

Lisa: I'm sor- *Jennie shows her signature gummy smile* J-Jennie?

Jennie: Hi.

Lisa: H-Hi. -mind: It's really her. The girl I've liked since we were in high school. Then she was gone.- What do you want? *cold*

Jennie: Uh I-I'm back.

Lisa: I see that. What do you want?

Jennie: What's wrong first you were all shocked, then you got all cold.

Lisa: How about this? My childhood friend one day just left me, without saying goodbye and then ignoring my texts and calls, ring a bell?

Jennie: *looked down* I'm sorry.

Lisa: You know how devasted I was? I cut all of my emotions for years, thank God I met Rosé she brought my emotions back. But you just leave me and then show up one day and think we're all good. I'm sorry but no.

Jennie: Let me explain.

Lisa: Jennie. We might have been friends or even best friends in the past, but you caused me to laugh as much as you caused me to cry. I'm sorry but I have to go. 

Lisa quickly packed all her things and left Jennie alone in the library. Lisa went to her car and drove home. When she got home, she immediately lay down on her bed. As she looked up at the ceiling, old memories of her and Jennie came back into her mind.

Lisa: -mind: Why now? Why?-

Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone began to ring. She picked it up and saw it was Rosé.

Lisa: Hi Chipmunk, what's up? *unmotivated*

Rosé: You don't sound good. You, ok?

Lisa: Yeah, I'm fine. Why did you call me?

Rosé: I wanted to tell you that, we are going to the bar today, want to come?

Lisa: Yes. I think I'm in need for a drink.

Rosé: Ok. Be there at 8 o'clock.

Lisa: Ok, see you there. Bye.

Rosé: Bye.

Lisa slowly got ready. When Lisa arrived, her friends were already there. They went inside and ordered drinks. After a while they were already all a little drunk and were dancing on the dancing floor. Suddenly someone drags Lisa out of the bar, Lisa tries to get out of their grip, but she didn't succeed. The person stopped dragging Lisa when they were in front of the bar.

Lisa: What the hell do you think you're doing?

??: Lisa, look at me.

Lisa: Why sho- *looked at the person* J-Jisoo?

Jisoo: Hi.

Lisa: Why?

Jisoo: Please just listen.

Lisa: Why should I? You were like an older sister for me, but when I asked you what happened with Jennie, you just ignored it.

Jisoo: Please just listen. We don't have much time.

Lisa: I'm listening.

Jisoo: Jennie was forced to leave.

Hearing those words, LIsa immediatey sobbered up. 

Lisa: What?

She asked with her eyes widened.

Jisoo: She was forced to be together with the son of the partner company of our dad's company. She didn't want to leave, but our father threatened her to hurt you. She left because she didn't want anything to happen to you. It took a while for the contract between the two companies to end, but the second it ended Jennie didn't waste a minute and packed her stuff to come here. To come to you. But when she tried talking to you, she wanted to explain what happened, but you didn't let her explain.

Lisa: *teary eyes* Where is she?

Jisoo: Han River.

Lisa: Ok.

Lisa quickly drove to Han River and hoped Jennie isn't going to do anything stupid. Jennie was crying on the edge of the river, ready to jump. As she jumped someone held her back from behind. The person pulled her back into a hug and didn't have the intention to let go.

Jennie: Let me go!

Lisa: No.

Jennie: *shocked* L-Lisa. *teary eyes*

Jennie turned around to face Lisa. 

Lisa: I'm here.

Jennie: I'm so sorry for hurting you. *sobbing*

Lisa: Hey, it's ok. You're here now. Jisoo already explain everything to me. I'm so sorry, I blamed you.

Jennie: I'm sorry. I should've told you.

Lisa: Hey, it's ok. You did it to protect me, I'm just happy you're here.

Lisa said while wiping the tears away, that were running over Jennie's cheeks. Jennie hugs Lisa and mumbels.

Jennie: How did I deserve you to be in my life?

Lisa sighed and just said.

Lisa: Come on let's get you home.
